The Gun Of Bavaria
Grown up since day one with oven baked turkey on Thanksgiving, but this year, I think I'm getting a deep fryer and a small turkey to augment the feast. Tried it last year and loved it. So what's your poison? Oven or Deep Fryer?

Bugeater
If you can get over the fact that frying them is expensive, messy, and could potentially destroy your entire neighborhood, it's by far the best option.

NIGHT STALKER
Nothing like a smoked turkey...I've been doing it for over 20 years now. You can pick up a smoker at Home Depot, Lowes, etc., cheap.

I can't even eat that dried out oven cooked crap anymore.

rillo
I've always wanted to try fried turkey, every year you hear someone burned down their house because they did it wrong. The Holidays are here!

The Holidays are here! Those people, who most likely had their deep fryers in their coat closet, sort of "had it coming". I recommend your deck or patio, and limit the damages to under $10,000. I agree, same with people who run their generator's inside their house or closed garage during hurricane time, and wonder why they get soooooo sleepy. NIGHT STALKER
I am used to old fashioned Italian tradition of oven baked turkey. I miss those days...stopped after my mother passed away years ago. It was a big feast with Lasagna and then the turkey after...back in those days, my appetite couldn't handle all that. I would get full just looking at all the food.

Man you're bringing back a flood of memories. Nothing like an Italian mom's 7 course meal. My mom always expected me to eat it all too. I can still remember "wnat more squash? justincredible
I'll be hosting Thanksgiving at my new house this year and I will be deep frying the turkey. I am going to go buy a fresh one at a local turkey farm. It should be pretty damn tasty.

Bugg
Oven wins over deep fry... I love stuffing....you cant deepfry stuffing in the turkey Takes longer to cook with stuffing, plus it's a health hazard. Better to cook the stuffing in a pan and fill the cavity with nuked aromatics to add flavor and speed cooking time.
