PaJetFan
Winning in the nfl is about great o-line play and great defense. PERIOD. Every great dynasty did it this way...Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Niners, Patriots, Broncos. Parcels did it this way, Gibbs (the first time) did it, etc....It's the fundament truth about football. This is both historically and modernly factual that a great o-line and and great defense consistently win superbowls and big games. The reason...it allows a wide variety of skill players to have to take less risks / play solid football to win. It's the same with war. You can bomb and make thousands of air strikes, but you MUST advance the ground forces and stop the opposition's ground forces to win. FACT - The Jets O-line is better than the Pat's O-line. FACT - The Jets Defense is better than the Pat's defense. If you closely examine how they match up...our o-line can play at least to the level as their D-Line.... but most importantly... Our defense and d-line is MUCH better than their o-line!!!! THEY WILL NOT RUN THE BALL ON US PERIOD. We will physically beat up the patriots. Expect a huge / fun game out of Jenkins and our entire front seven as we maul their offensive front. You can ask why we lost the first time??? The answer is because there were too many new (talented) parts, that had not Gelled yet. However, we are running as a well oiled machine now. This is an entirely new Offensively line and defense than was playing in week 2. Enjoy the game!! I will.

joewilly
ya left out 1 fact- the pats have won the last 11 out of 12 games. though that will change after tonight
GimmeShelter
Biggest concern is we have many times been unable to defend screens and quick slants this season. If we manage to improve on that tonight and don't let Faulk and Welker kill us (especially on 3rd downs when we need to get the D off the field) we should be ok barring a Farve multi INT night. PaJetFan
Seriously, all the things people have replied with... such as 'patriots have won 11 of last 12' makes no sense. I'm talking about right now. Those other times we lost, the Pats were better than us in regard to O-line and defense. The difference now is that we are far superior in those areas. Two problems with this. 1) The Jets O-Line is going against the Pats D-Line. 2) The Jets D-Line is going against the Pats O-Line. I agree though 100% these kind of games are decided inside the trenches. If the Jets win there then they will win and probably convincingly. Still though you have to give respect to Warren, Wilfolk and Seymour. They are not going to be an easy assignment.

By no means are they going to be easy. We're talking quality , veteran D linemen here.

stoicsentry
I think the JETS should win this one convincingly, though the weather and coaching is an X-factor
