Question On Hall Of Fame Status

After the Jets win the Super Bowl this year I am curious to see what you guys think. Let's assume that they win just this year. I know they will probably repeat but for the sake of this argument let's keep it simple.

Does Favre go into the Hall of Fame as a Jet? :-P

How about Faneca? Ty Law?

Does Kris Jenkins get his # retired?

I really want to know the answers to these questions. If anyone has a connection to the Jets please see if you can get clarification on these.

Thanks.

I love you Max!

Two answer your questions though.

No, No, No and most likely.

Favre can play 10 years with the jets and he'll still be a Packer in NFL's eyes.

Faneca is 30+ so he wont go to the hall as a JET, he'll go as a Steeler IMO.

Ty Law Is a HOF in my Eyes, but he's again a Patriot, not a JET.

Kris Jenkins has a chance because he's still pretty young, I believe only 28yrs old. He's reinventing his career with the Jets so he'll actually be able to make a statement as a Jet, especially going to probowls and winning championships.

Thanks for the response Villian. I would like to get to know you better before committing to the L word.

I do like you a lot though. I will say that, lol.

One more question, if Favre plays two years here and wins 2 Super Bowls do the Jets retire his #?

It is #4 so it isn't like there is going to be a big demand for it or anything like that.

Favre goes in as a Packer.

Faneca? No chance.

Law? His body of work in New England was excellent. His 10 picks for the Jets in 2005 padded his stats but 2006 and 2007 in KC were unremarkable.

If he had stayed in NE he may of had a chance at the HOF but his decision to chase the big bucks in 2005 may cost him the ultimate personal honour.

Jenkins? He is having a great year but thats about it.

lmao. you're a wild boy sun!

I think that if Favre wins two SB's he will certainly get his Jersey retiredy, maybe even if he wins one and plays both years given that we havent seen not just a chip but a superbowl appearance in like 40 years...thats a long azz time. That will instantly make him a Jet/Tri-state area Legend. Remember, if he wins two chips he would have been part of more Championships as a Jet then what Namath or what this organization has currently. He will still go to the Hall as a Packer, but he will certainly be recognized as being a Jet given that he won more Chips as a Jet persay.

Brett could actually pull this off. He has more weapons in my opinion now than what he had at Greenbay. I dont mean in regards to just offense as well. Our defense is pretty stout. We just need to tighten up on our pass D.

I dont think that Law chasing the "big bucks" will hamper his eligibility. He was part of multiple championships and he was basically a shutdown CB for damn near a decade. And even if that happens that would be kinda gay which will further solidify the fact that you need to worry about yourself and get that paper because when people can take away achievement for personal feelings about another mans financial status then does the hall really matter?

Just saying.

As for Jenkins. He has a chance. He came into the league and he was the most dominate DT for a couple years. He did fall off during injury but this year has re-established his career. If he continues to play like this, stay healthy and especially if we win the dance he'll be going in as a Jet.

from the wiki page;

Retired numbers

  • Although the #90 worn by Dennis Byrd has not been officially retired, it has not been issued since he suffered his career-ending injury in 1992.
  • Although the #80 worn by Wayne Chrebet has not been officially retired, it has not been issued since he suffered his career-ending injury in 2005.
  • Although the #28 worn by Curtis Martin has not been officially retired, it has not been issued since his formal retirement in 2007.

no way anyone gets a number retired for one SB season since only two career jets got a number retired last time

Id probably say No, Favre will go in as packer, Law a Patriot and Faneca most likely a Steeler.
