One word, Wildcat not Pennington.

Chad with a 15 point lead in the 2nd half numbers.

5/6 60 yards 0 INTs.

Game numbers:

17/20 226 yards

He did more than enough. You close out a game by running the ball and completing the short passes neccessary to keep you on the field and eat the clock. Chad did it, Favre did not.

Ok.

But you guys were up by 17 last night, right?

And we were down 17-6 against the Bills late third quarter earlier this year and we won.

Not trolling; just using facts to disspell opinions and persectives.

You guys are unbelievable. You make a broad statement, I tell you you're wrong and site a specific example, then you excuse the example as if it never happened.

Yawn is right.

Considering the game ended 25-16, are you suggesting that Chad actually managed to take a point off the board against the Bills? I'm impressed with your "Facts"

In reality, it was 16-10 mid way through the 3rd when old noodle arm put together a TD drive making 17-16 you guys in the third. The Third.

From there your defense, on consecutive Bills drives, forced an INT, Fumble, Safety, Fumble to close out the game and old noodle-arm managed to turn 4 turnovers into a whopping 6 points. 6!

So yea, I can see why you would reference that game as a 4th quarter comeback of Chad's..

Yawn indeed..

I have a good friend of mine (Dolphins fan) that has been going to our local watering hole for years watching them suck. now all of a sudden this year he can't get a seat in front of the TV with the Fins game on. the bandwagoners are coming out of the woodwork. thoughts?

What Dolphin fan wants to go to a bar in New York and watch them lose, the abuse taken by the locals would be too much to take. At least if they win we have some wriggle room.

You should welcome you Phin friend to come here and post sometime ;)

No, I do not believe Chad would have been able to win the game last night. A big key to the success of our offense was zipped passes against the Pats slow LB's.

For example, I do not think Leon scores a TD on the first drive of the game with Pennington behind center given his slow delivery and lack of velocity. That play only works if the ball is thrown out there on a rope before the defense can fully react and close on the play.

With that being said, Pennington is doing a great job down in Miami and I will give credit where credit is due. He has turned the team around with his stability and brought a winning attitude to the locker room.

Every fan base has those douchebags. Everytime the Jets are losing there are threads are here talking about how they are, "Sick of this team!"

Just go look at last nights gameday thread... Holy cow, I saw just about every player and coach called out as being ready for the chopping block, and they were winning!

No

Not having watched the Phins play much, I don't know how many crunch time 4th Q drives Chad has led his team to wins. But career wise for Chad, is it 25+ or 30+...The local sports writers never gave us a mounting total did they:confused: All I can remember is getting drunk and miserable because we would be behind in the 4th Q...and that usually meant we lost.

Absolutely not. There were several throws Favre made last night where I thought to myself, there is no way Chad could have made that throw. Just no way. And you would have to assume that Chad could have gotten us that lead to hold it in the first place, which he could not have. And us losing the lead was not Favre's fault at all. If Chad tried to make some of the throws Favre made last night they would have been picked for sure.

The idea got buried below some posts but seriously, how has no one considered Chad's efficiency to bury the Patriots in the third quarter?

Just as your defense allowed the Patriots to march up and down the field, Favre was a huge part of keeping your defense on the field.

I said it earlier in the thread and I'll say it again. Chad was in the same exact situation in week 3. The Dolphins lead 21-6 at half time and Chad was able to help increase the lead.

Yes, he had a great overtime and end of the 4th, buFavre was a huge part of letting the Patriots back in.

Why didn't Chad do that against Cincinnati last year? Or the Giants? Or Miami?

Dude, trying to compare a 1:00 game in week 3 in which your team was overlooked and taken lightly, with a week 11 game, nationally televised game for first place is beyond inane.

It's much more relevant than comparing him with a entire different team in a different season against different opponents.

And save me the national tv thing. I thought Brett Favre was brought to NY just for those games.

That's my entire point!!! The fact that Pennington went 5/6 in the second half of week 3 is neither impressive nor relevant. honestly, it's laughable that you think you have some kind of point

I think your comprehension is the laugable offense.

The question is would Chad have been able to beat the Patriots last night.

Everyone that says no sites Favre's late game throws as the evidence.

My response is that Chad had a 21-6 lead at half and never looked back where Brett did.

W/o the wildcat, Chad doesn't get up 21-6?

Remember, the Jets don't run the Wildcat.

Yes Chad would have won, he has the "eye of the tiger" burning deep inside of him.

I heard some stat on the radio today to the effect that Chad has converted only 1 third down situation where 6 or more yards were needed--all season. IF that is true that is remarkable.
