More Brad Smith WildJet formation please?

I was surprised we only ran that play once considering it netted like almost 20 yards. Are you?

I also thought it was funny how Brett was with his arm up calling I'm open ala Ace Ventura Pet Detective... "I'm open I'm open!!"

I wanted more wildcat formations or maybe a direct snap to Leon. Maybe saving this for the playoffs in case we have to play them.

Whoooaaa hold on there buddy, it's the Wildcat. Nothing else and it aint changin'.

As noted in the Sun-Sentinel this morning, I am sure you saw it, the wildcat actually is a derivative of the scheme Arkansas ran the past few years. Guess who is was designed for? Darren McFadden, you know, of the Raidahs? Be afraid CJ, be very afraid, DMC returns to the field this Sunday.

THIS HAS BEEN A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT SPONSORED BY JET FANS EVERYWHERE!!!

I'm not holding my breath, Phins will take care of the Raiders.

Or maybe he doesn't. Mcfadden is having toe trouble...

He didn't try to play yesterday and missed his third straight game. And he won't try to use medicine to get on the field. "Nah, I ain't taking no shot," McFadden said. "The last time I took a shot (Buffalo), it made it worse on me, so that's something I'm not gonna do again."

Turf toe is no joke, not good if McFadden has this already in his career (on both feet?). Glad the Raiders took him, turf toe has shorten player careers.

I don't understand why the media is getting all excited about this stuff, like it is some new thing. It's just a version of the option offense, except instead of running it with a QB who can run, you're running with a RB who can hopefully throw (Ronnie Brown being the original example).

Supposedly its a college formation and isn't suppose to work in the NFL. Jets have run this formation a couple of times in the pass 2 years however we didn't score out of it, but Miami has been scoring out of it so its all the new rage, I guess.

Ummm, we've been scoring out of it ALOT actually and in a myriad of different ways. You have the plain singlewing with the LT pulled over next to the RT and the QB at WR. We've run keepers, pitches, sweeps, options and pass plays out of that formation, all resulting in TD's. We also had a twist on it last Sunday, Seattle had been pretty effective in taming the formation, then Ronnie lined up in the shotgun as QB, but it wasn't the single wing, it was a pro formation with a back on his left and right with 2 TE's and the LT was back in his normal spot... This was Ricky's 51 yard TD run, Seattle bit thinking it was the singlewing when it was actually a normal draw play, except Ronnie checked in as the QB. This is where the Wildcat comes in, it's Miamis offense as a whole, with tons of different looks and formations, not just the singlewing.

Other teams, including the Jets, are running 1 or 2 singlewing plays and that's it, they're not spending the time that we are evolving the formation. Every new twist adds something else for the next team to prepare for. Very cool to watch and root for, in my opinion.
