leonwash29
Favre is going to play another year tops. Kellen isn't looking like the future but the other Brett has great potential. If Favre retires after this season we are left with no established qb. Can we steal Cassell and have him open up in our new castle in 2010? war ensemble
That would be funny. Seeing our team's success now, I'd rather just watch this season go by than look for the offseason this early.

DMaynard
He can't throw the long ball. Ratliff will be just fine.

serphnx
Tyler Thigpen > Matt Cassell Yes, I agree. Can you believe Herman's dumb luck though? Fortunately he will screw it up, but Thigpen is easily a top 10 QB, and Herm just lucked right into that.

SMC
Uhm, no. Cassel is going to be seeking sick money and people are willing to pay that after 10 games, going 6-4 with the best receiving corp in the NFL? Do people overlook the fact he's only thrown 10 TDs but with 7 INTs? That's on pace for a 16 TD 11 INT season. Is that someone the Jets want to have? Excepting that last throw to Moss, that was a total Chad game.

Aten
Yup, even worse though because he had Moss... I mean, he puts up 60% throwing everything under 15 yards against a team that's notoriously bad at covering underneath, and that's supposed to be good? Jared
Exactly. Plus, how can people overlook the receiving group he has? Welker, sure. But Moss's best ability is his deep threat, which Cassel can't seem to connect on. Otherwise he has Gaffney, Aiken, Watson... all "solid" contributors, but hardly world beaters. I think it is fair to say that for a guy with his limited experience, Cassel is playing well. His throws have zip, accuracy, and he generally has good decision making. The mobility is just a bonus. I think the most telling thing about the last TD pass was that he made the throw on the run, but it was still a perfect throw, perfect spiral, exactly where it had to be. He has a very good short-medium game, but not much else right now. But, considering his upside, that is enough for an otherwise good team to win games. He'll get a solid starter's contract somewhere, and some fanbase will be generally happy with him I think.

I dont know, the trio in Arizona might have something to say about that. But I agree that he will be seeking a BIG contract and the Jets should stay away. jason423
Cassel is going to be another in a long line of backup QBs that get ridiculous money from some team desperate for a QB(Minnesota, San Francisco). Id stay away. Unless we win the SB and lose the 1st rounder Id seriously consider drafting a 1st rounder and praying Favre stays one more year. Jetscode1
He'll want serious coin for a limited resume. He played well last night. Good pocket presence and ability to buy time with his feet. But he had several really poor throws especially the deep ball. Still looks a system QB until proven otherwise. I'd pass.
J.E.T.S. JETS JETS JETS
Brett Favre is going to stay another year and clemens is not the future. I like brett ratliff and see him as the future now for cassell he can't throw deep and i just don't want him on our JETS.
