SJ Reviews: 'Quantum of Solace'..Darker but still cool Bond (3)

This version shows us a still reeling Bond as he is morose over losing his last love interest. Its neither revenge or sorrow thats fueling his angst or so we are led to beleive. Its apretty cool plot of a secret organization that deals with coups and manipulation of natural resouces. But in Bond, its about the spy stuff, action, chases and girls. We have a stunner here in Ukranian Olga Kurylenko, who captures the big screen. One of my favorite bad guy character actors, Mathieu Amalric is fantastic as the nasty villian. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are admirable and bottom line , if you are a Bond afficionado (regradless of who plays Bond) then this will satisfy. If yo uare totally hung up on Connery as Bond then oh well, thats was a million years ago and the franchise must move on. I do like the coldness showed in killing bad guys that Craig shows which mirrors the Connery adaptation. I think it was a good idea to get away from nice guy spies attitides that they used in Moore and Brosnan.
