Live Puppy Cam

They look like Chow Chows, but who cares? That was awesome. My blood pressure went down watching that. Yes, I watched it. Hehe, dogs rule.

Hasn't it been scientifically proven that pet owners generally have lower blood pressure? Or that spending time with your pet can have that effect....either way, animals are great.

Both. My dogs keep me alive. I keep them borderline thin. They're both getting on in years, and they look awesome. Husky mixes. Their coats shine like glass.

Luna, 14 (guess), Bela 9. Luna has cost me the price of a good used car with her health issues. And I'd do it a million times over. Shelter dogs, they're so grateful. They really are.

They are Shiba Inu pups. My wife, son and I have been watching this puppy cam for days. They are usually asleep, but there is also lots of fighting and playing. The other morning, I saw the mother dog feeding them. Pretty cool.
Ah. I got thrown by the curly tail on one of them, but what I actually meant to say in the first place was Akita. Would've still been wrong, but too much pie will do ya.

Shelter dogs are okay. I prefer my pure breds though. Nothing makes you feel better than spending $500 - $1,000 on a dog when there are uglier dogs available for free.

It is hard to explain but it just makes you feel good. Buying a puppy mill dog is something that will never get old for me.

You're horrible Max! Although I know you are kidding. ;)

I wanted a Birmin cat for their gorgeous fur, blue eyes and white feet and was surprised when I had to wait months and months for a new litter and that it would be $500 - $800!

I went to a shelter with a girlfriend who was looking for a dog and I ended up falling in love with my shelter kitty. I went back a week later and he was still there and I just had to have him.

Shelter animals are the BEST. They know in their heart of hearts that you rescued them and they are appreciative.

My aunt has had dogs here entire life and they always came from shelters. She goes the older dogs that no one seems to want. Of course they come with "issues" that she spends her hard-earned money on. Oh well.

My favorite dog is the German Shepherd.. my aunt would get the retired seeing-eye dogs or shepherds that were too rambunctious for service. They were the BEST DOGS EVER!

Max, stop being a prick. :)

Paying for an animal from a pet store is a crime. Anyone who wants a purebred without paying a small fortune can get them from breed specific rescue organizations or breeders looking to rehome (the latter is usually free). Best of both worlds.

I just don't agree. You have to go through the rescue volunteers who will want to verify what home you are giving the dog. The benefit of paying $1,000 for a dog is that there are no background checks.

Dammit I need something to kick on Sundays. I am a Jets fan after all. The days of smashing TVs are over. Plasma's are too precious to smash. It is easier to just kick the dog. :shutit:

And why should I have to answer questions that the rescue people ask? I didn't have to answer questions to have children. And when you get a rescue dog you are basically taking somebody's hand me downs.

I would rather pay the money and get a dog that hasn't already pissed somebody off. Also I don't have confirmation of this but I think I read that something like 94% of all shelter dogs have kooties.

:-P

What dogs don't shed? Someday I'll get a pup and want NO SHEDDING! I love my German Shepherds though.

Alright I will be serious. I do love dogs. Our Australian Sheperd sheds really bad though. That part I could do without. Luckily I trained him to poop on my neighbors lawn so I don't have to worry about that part of it.

Dogs with hair like Yorkies don't shed at all. Short coats like Dobermans, Vizslas, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks (w/o undercoats) shed very little and require almost no grooming.

furry = cuddly and soft!

( and i have a vacuum.. or i can just harvest it all and knit sweaters! :D )

Well, that's cute and all GG, and I totally want to believe that... but my cat sheds bad. I'm always vacuuming and can't believe how much gets sucked up that you just don't see! I have towels on the couch where he likes to lay and in the morning when I feed him, he wants to rub up against my leg.. and I'm running around the kitchen like "don't touch me with your furry body!" I have lint brushes in every room in the house. :disgust:

I love Yorkies, they are very cute. Ridgebacks are a beautiful dog, need lots of space and excercise I bet.

So, Shepherds shed? Damn...

Yes, someone SHOULD have questioned you before having children. It's the only statement I agree with here!

In all seriousness back, I got put through the wringer on the first (Luna), and saved the latter while working in an animal hospital. Zero hour with a tourniquet and blue juice, vein popping, all ready to go. Bela looked nervous about dying, so I felt awful and stopped the presses and took him. He was five months old, not house broken, and a total wreck. I still can't believe he wasn't pitbull bait, but that's a story for another day. He was healthy, and what a travesty if I wasn't working that day.

Puppies often wag their tails after injection and coo. Seen it. Haunts me a lot. Kittens get stabbed in the stomach. All necessary, but that's because we're a throw away world. That's all I have to say about that.

Wait! Bela is for Bela Lugosi.
