Fishooked
I'd been looking into possibly replacing my 5.1 setup with a 2.1 setup, but don't really want to sacrifice sound quality. Im not a big fan of clutter or extra wires, but anyway, are there any really good ones, outside of Bose or other brands that cost an arm or a leg? Thanks fellas... Maxman
I don't know the answer but I am curious. I don't see how it could be better but I am willing to listen to someone who has it setup already.

I have an Onky0 5.1 system right now, its ok, nowhere near top of the line, and I know Im not getting the most out of it because of speaker placement and room layout. I really don't want speakers all over the place and having to deal with the wires that acompany them.
Fishooked
This is kinda what I had in mind: http://cgi.ebay.com/Philips-HTS6600-37-Ambisound-DVD-Home-Theater-System_W0QQitemZ250328116913QQcmdZViewItemQQptZHome_Theater_in_a_Box?hash=item250328116913&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A134|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318
anskyruben
I have a basic 5.1 Sony Bravia setup in my room. The rear speakers on it are wireless, thus eliminating the pesky wires. You should check it out. I paid 500 bucks for it at Costco. You really don't want to lose your rear sound, if you're used to it.

I refuse to believe you can get a better theater simulation with less speakers.
war ensemble
Rather than scale down quality for ease of use, I suggest a wireless 5.1 setup with easily hidden speakers. Should get rid of the excess wires and junk while leaving you with a great audio experience.
anskyruben
That's what I said. 2.1 is not going to sound anywhere as good as 5.1. Wireless rears are your answer Fish.
