id rather beat the man in january. Im telling you if we win this game we will lose to them in the playoffs if we face them. If we lose tomorrow we will beat them in the playoffs if we play them.

Not rooting for a loss, but im just saying.

I will take the win now and take my chances with them in January...

I mean look at last year. giants lose to undefeated pats, but beat them when it counted. I dont think the giants wouldve beat them in the SB if they had beat them week17.

By your logic, the Pats should've lost to the Chargers last year because they beat them in the regular season. I could go on and on with this stuff.

pats didnt have to beat them twice on the road. we would have to beat the titans twice on the road. belive me I hope im wrong.

Really?

So if we win tomorrow and pull within 2 games its a lock that Tennessee will be the #1 seed?

Really?

When they still have to play a desperate Detroit team, Cleveland, Pittsburgh & Indianapolis.

Really?

Wow.

I had no idea they couldn't go 13-3 and lose the tiebreaker to the Jets if we get on a hot streak (and if we beat TENN that is what is going to happen --- 13-3).

but if im wrong, ill gladly accept it.

You are the absolute worst poster on this site. You are the same guy that claimed the Giants finished the season 6-2 last year, and made a big thread about that.

This logic is so flawed. Look at last year when Jacksonville beat Pittsburgh twice on the road, you make no sense. Also since when were we indefinitely facing Tennessee in January?

they did finish 6-2. I included playoffs. I dont think im the worst poster man. Im one of the positive guys on this board, and everyone called me crazy thinking we could finish the year 8-2, and now everyone is starting to expect it.

theres no logic saying its very tough to beat a team twice on the road? ecspecially a team with a great defense.

There is logic in that.

Where there is not logic is when you apply that as a definitive principle.

It's hard to get an A in physics and calculus does not mean that if you get an A in physics you will get a B in calculus and if you get a B in calculus you will get an A in physics.

I know you think I "hate" you or something or another but I don't. You think I came after you because you were optimistic but I didn't. The reason I find you threads annoying is because you keep looking WAY too far ahead of yourself. For example, before the Rams game you posted a thread about the Pats game. Before the Pats game you post a thread about the Titans game. I mean you're just setting yourself up. Not to mention the countless threads you started about playoff pictures and games with playoff implications at around week ****ing 3 or 4 in the season!! I mean NO one is going to respond well to that kind of thing.

I don't think you're an awful poster and I'm in no position to judge anyone regardless. I just think you need to calm down on the thread starting and the playoff scenario implication thingy's.

There's no logic to prefer losing tomorrow based on your simple fancy that we will automatically lose the next time we play them if we win the first time. It just doesn't work like that, as I've proved using the Rams as an example. We might win and we might lose tomorrow, just as we might win or lose if we both play each other sometime in the playoffs, assuming both teams make the playoffs. You just make a ridiculous amount of assumptions when there's nothing to back the reasoning. Whatever happens tomorrow will not directly correlate to what happens in the playoffs.

What makes you so sure that we're actually making the playoffs?

Every game counts for us IMO.

I am by no means preferring a loss tomorrow. I want this win, all I was saying was it is hard to win 2 games on the road vs the same team. Theres always an extra push for the team not to lose that second one to the same team while being at home. Look at the pats. they dont lose to teams 2 times in a row, because when they lose once they know how to make that extra adjustment to win the next one. Jets winning tomorrow in my mind gets us in the playoffs, so im not hoping we lose, just because of january. I watched a pregame video and ian eagle said if the jets could win, people can start thinking we can represent the AFC in the superbowl, and i dont know about you guys but hearing that felt pretty good. the odds are against us tomorrow. can you imagaine the doubts we would have if we won and had to play a tought titan team a second time? the odds will be even greater to beat them in january if it comes down to that, but that doesent mean the jets cant pull an 07 jaguars.

and irishjet I understand my playoff threads were annoying, but you havent seen any threads on that lately so I have been controlling it. but I do understand your point of view.

point is I want the jets to win tomorrow, the next week, the next week, and just keep winning, including in tampa come february.

No, by using what some might consider "logic", you indirectly said that you would rather we lose tomorrow, because then we will win in the playoffs. But it doesn't work like that. You didn't say that "it is hard to win...", you said that we won't win. There's a major difference between that concrete assumption and simply saying it alters our chances.

1. I just totally disagree with this whole psychology thing you have going here. Both teams in the playoffs want to win, there's no difference between their attitudes going into the game. There's no extra push and no comfort for the team that has already one win in that stadium; the players know that the regular season standings mean nothing in the playoffs. They do not get any extra adjustments from losing once; the coaches will gameplan for the game effectively using the tape as either way. A team can make zero mistakes and lose, just as they can do absolute garbage and pull off a win, if chance goes their way. They'll use the tape the same way and break down similar weaknesses between a win and a loss. So the coaching benefit from coming off a loss isn't their either. Why would we have more doubts playing a team we already beat once? I don't care what Eagles fans think, and the odds will not change all that drastically following the result of tomorrow's game.

2. You haven't been controlling it. Max told you to stop, so you're only doing it because you'd have your thread-making capabilities taken away if you didn't. It's not self-control, but zero tolerance, that has forced you to stop.

3. Nothing to disagree with here. I guess that's a first, lol.
