TNJet
I just wanted to get your opinion on a coach in the Big East. My UT Volunteers seem to have Cincinattis Brian Kelly as their leading candidate for our football coach next year. Anyone think this would be a good hire? Is he as good as advertised? Any opinions would be helpful. Thanks boys.

Name recognition is a lot of it. I'm thinking former NFL coach Lane Kiffen might fill the bill.

Well he's been described as a decent recruiter, that gets absolutely 110% out of every player on his teams. He also has won everywhere he's been, even winning a MAC championship while coaching central michigan. He also has cincinnatti at number 16 in the bcs,and 9-2. I like Kiffin as well Thai, but he just scares me because I'm not sure if Oakland made him lose,or he made Oakland lose.
SouthernJet
Problem with Kelly is that he runs the spread.. Thats OK if you get the perfect talent to run the spread.. Many many kids who have pro ambitions want to go where the team runs a Pro-set,,a 5 star power RB already is backing down form UT due to Kelly rumors, cause he wants to run, not watch team throw all the time.... http://tennessean.com/article/20081125/SPORTS0601/811250341/1002/SPORTS

When I hear spread offense I think of Texas Tech who had some truly great record setting QB's. None of which ever made it in the NFL.

TNJet
There's now speculation that Kiffin has been offered from Mike Hamilton, looks like he's my new coach. Cool! They are saying that he may be able to bring in his dad Monte as our DC,and former USC coach mate Ed Orgeron as recruit specialist/defensive line coach. I like the sound of those guys! I like the sound of those guys! he will be good, BUT, he will need to keep someone on staff or hire a east coast guy since these are all recent west coast guys..cant underestimate the need to have a conncection to high school coaches in recruiting area,,they will keep tenn best recruiter from current staff imho

war ensemble
At the end of the day, all these opposing political views are fully directed towards the nation's growth and benefit. So, I can understand arguing but not personal attacks/complete rebuttals of certain ideas.
