jetsrule128
On if he feels S Eric Smith played too soon after his first concussion... With all injuries, we follow the same process. We always put the player's safety first. That's not going to change. Eric continues to make progress. Whether it's his injury or anybody else's, we're not going to push the players back in before we think they're absolutely healthy. It

NIGHT STALKER
Neither Eric Smith nor Bubba Franks should be on the field for the rest of the season and postseason. I'm for adding Nugent on there as well...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. My concern is with Harris. I would like to at least have some kind of news when he'll be back. The benefit is that at 8-3 and not a killer schedule (not easy, but not insane like the Steeler's), the Jets can take their time in bringing Harris back. I have always liked bowens but i thought he would really flounder at MLBer. I know he is a little weak against the pass but so is Harris so its not like we lose that much with Harris being out. Not saying that I don't want Harris back, only that Bowens has been a surprise find at that position. When we do get Harris back this team will be impossible to run on...as if they aren't already. You have to love the hard working undrafted guys that will give anything to win.

Bowens was slow to perform in his first game starting against Buffalo, but he has progressed a lot better than I thought he would. The beauty of it is, he's the type of player that we can hold on to for a long time as a great role-player, 'Mangini guy' if you will... although I don't like that term. He can sub in at pretty much any of the LB spots confidently now. BTW, I hate Eric Smith.

You have to love the hard working undrafted guys that will give anything to win. Don't forget that the only reason that Elam was undrafted was because of his legal issues. Others here would know better where he was projected to go in the draft, but I think we got a steal. He has eliminated the occasional bone headed play and is turning out to be a solid complement to Rhodes.

The one bright side (if its even possible) to injuries is that your backups and role players get VALUABLE playing time at the position and now can step in and play at a higher level at any time... HardKoreXXX
Is it just me or have you guys been on a tear since Smith got suspended/couldnt play due to injury? The best way to gauge a coaching staff is to see how well a backup performs when the starter goes down. If the backup performs better than the starter, you know you have a ****ty coaching staff. Then again, you guys have been saying that all along.

Goodbye Smith, Franks and Nugent. I'm quite comfortable with what I've seen of Feeley .

I believe Harris was hampered by his injury since pre season. I think he is okay in coverage. I would like to see Bowens rush from the DE in obvious passing downs. lancemehl
Elam is clearly an upgrade over Eric Smith, a simple case of Smith lost his job because His backup came in and played brilliantly.( Brady/ Bledsoe, smaller scale) Keep Feely right where he is until he misses an easy kick, then bring in Nugent. Harris back ASAP!!!!!!!! PS One interesting scenerio- 55 yarder to win it Feely or healthy Nugent? lol BasicallySmith, backup, no matter what Feely, nugent(roll the dice) Harris plays over everyone.
