Student arrested for 'passing gas'

Recommended Posts

WTF is the world coming to? My weekly poker game, after a vote, instituted a gas tax some months ago. I felt this was an extremely faggy move, but democracy spoke. Now this:

STUART, Fla. - A student at a Florida school has been arrested after authorities said he was "passing gas" and turning off his classmates' computers.

According to a report released Friday by the Martin County Sheriff's Office, the 13-year-old boy "continually disrupted his classroom environment" by intentionally breaking wind. He then shut off some computers other students were using.

The Spectrum Junior-Senior High School student was arrested Nov. 4.

school resource officer placed the boy under arrest after he confessed about his behavior, according to the report. He was charged with disruption of school function and released to his mother.

Well that's different. There's no nauseatic feeling after being in the same room as someone who sneezes. But someone who farts due to a sneeze....those are the evilest.

Sneezing can possiblely pass sickness and possibly leading to death.

It's possible.

So apaprently we've gone zero tolerance in the schools to the point where kids are no longer sent to the AP's office, given detention or suspended, just arrested.

That SLO should be embarrased, if that's the only reason he arrested him.

No offense, but a fricken arrest should be the LAST thing, like you know, the kid is going nuts and breaking stuff level, to be imposed on a school.

Has this god damned country lost it's mind?

Good post. I can't give any more rep so I guess I'll just say that here.

Nobody has ever been arrested at my school; they resort instead to detention, suspension, and a three strikes and your out removal of scholarship. Works well, there's no need to bring the police into this unless you literally can't control the class at all.

Since I'm apparently the only one here who can read... There's a big difference between passing gas and "intentionally passing gas".

He was INTENTIONALLY doing it, and turning off people's computers.

It wasnt' about passing gas, it was about being a punk kid who probably doesn't have a dad around to stick a desperately needed foot up his ass.

The world isn't going anywhere, it's just fine. The kid's a punk.

I mostly agree with this, but the arrest is overkill. Detention seems more appropriate.

People should be arrested for intentionally farting in public?

Hey Dooshey, we can't all be as smart as you I guess. Of course the farting was intentional. There are three salient points here though. The first is that farting should never be the antecedent to punishment. The second is, how do farting and turning off computers combined merit police attention. And lastly, go eat a turd.
