Well-matched Patriots, Steelers should come down to QBs

Nice article.

For me it all hinges on how well my Steeler D plays. They haven't really had a let-down game all year and that kinda worries me a bit. Especially knowing the history of how the Pats seem to always expose some weaknesses in coverage. Last i heard there was a possibility that Bryant McFadden could play this week. I'm sure hoping that's the case, we'll need him.

On offense, it still baffles the hell out of me as to how Bruce Arians gets any kinda credit.... Almost every single time we line up in that bunch formation that he loves so dearly, the defense dials up a blitz always getting one more rusher than we can block.... Ben is a QB that loves to wait for the big plays to develop, but rarely gets time for them to develop due to the scheme getting exposed and or holding the ball too long... Bellichick will be licking his chops when he sees (ON TAPE) that the Steelers no longer even bother with a FB anymore.

Well that's about as objective as i can be i suppose. There's a Steelers fans perspective...

Well matched?

Thats an insult to the Steelers D... IMO

Serious question, taken from another thread: Have the Steelers shown they can stop the spread?

That has been their main weakness on defense against the Patriots for the past 8 years, and Cassel has shown he can operate it. The Pats have shown they are completely willing to put the game in his hands and just throw all over the field. It wouldn't surprise me to see them throw 15 out of their first 20 plays, with the 5 runs being draws out of shotgun, or stretch plays out of 3 WR single back sets.

Thats a good question. I think your answer will have to wait til' sunday though. Peyton presented my D with some problems a few weeks ago but they did manage to keep the score down. 2 costly INT's from Ben hurt bad that game, gave Peyton short field both times.

But the Pats operate a little differently. They'll line up 5 wide alot vs us and like you said they'll try a few draw plays as well out of that formation.
