and....a $25,000 fine like 10% of Eric Smith's salary which is a lot less than say Wilfat's when he gets fined 25 grand works out to what maybe 5%?

Heres the official ruling. Schefters word is like gold.

Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is now reporting that Light won't be suspended at all.

Instead, Schefter reports, the league will fine Light $15,000.

Crowder will also be fined $15,000, according to Schefter.

and Eric Smith gets suspended for a hit while flying across the sky and landing one on Boldin...WTF is it with the double standards when it comes to New England with this commish anyway?

Um...no one's face got broken?

Here's a funky double-standard for you ..... actually not so much a doube-standard but kind of smells, no?:

What a ridiculous statement. You clowns beat a very weak and overrated Titans team. We simply had an off day against the Pats. We'll be 10-5 going to Bew York at end of December. Keep convincing yourself that we're not contenders. Keep it up. We're a solid team. Unlike the Jests, who are and will always be NOTHING!

Funny thing with these dumb ass trolls - their team can have an "off day" but the Jets season is defined by the loss to the Raiders. I guess the Jets can't have an "off day" as well? Hypocricy at it's finest. As they say - you are what your record says you are. In our case that's 8-3 and tied for 2nd best record in the AFC. That says it all.

Garb, if you believe that the league plays favorites, and I don't believe that you do, you do realize how that possibly may reflect poorly on some past Patriot fortunes?

I do not beleive the league plays favorites - it just looks that way because of circumstance, luck and a whole lot of other stuff. I have no doubt some league officials were partying with Tannebaum and I also do not beleive they can influence the outcome of the game. My point is, that all the bulls*t conspiracy theories I've had to hear from the minority here can go both ways - you know?

Anyway, I was just about to PM this picture to someone who used some rap term in their message.....and then I thought, heck, it's Thanksgiving! I want to share it with everyone here (and especially the Pittsburgh Steelers).

That post is hilarious. DW10 should do stand up.

It is in the League's best interestts to have its large market teams being competitive, about that there is no doubt.

But based on history, it is overly evident that they choose not affect the outcomes.

Regardless what the gamblers would tell you.

You know I do. $673,000. He was a high 3rd round pick.

The hit cost him $50,000 plus 1 game-check for being suspended, which is another $42,000.

$92,000 total, or just under 14% of his annual salary.

Light makes $3.75M in base salary. We'll see what his fine is.

Smith is way overpaid anyway.

Just now looking at what I posted earlier. He wasn't an early 3rd round pick. I was thinking of Schlegel. Smith was the last pick in round 3.

I don't know what price I'd put on getting concussions in back-to-back weeks (assuming those are the only ones he gets this season) that may have permanent damage somewhere down the road for him.
