Jets Babe
The 96' Jets were God-awful. But watching the Lions this year has made me realize how terrible they really are. What team is worse, the 08 Lions or the 96 Jets?

billo83
The 96 team actually had some talent believe it or not. We just had one of the worst coaches in NFL history running the show. The Lions have absolutely nothing. They remind me of the Bucs team that went 0-14.
RoadFan
It's not even close! The Lions are way worse. The '96 Jets had some talent but they were the most poorly coached team under Kotite in Jets history (just the thought of him makes my skin crawl.) That douchebag couldn't coach the special teams on a Pop Warner club. They were competitive in several games. Remember, the '97 Jets, under Parcells, nearly made the playoffs. This Lions team is completely devoid of talent. Lombardi could come back from the grave and struggle to win a game with the current garbage in Detroit. Panzer Division Marduk
The 96 team had Kotite, but were still competitive in a few games. They just found terrible ways to lose - look at that Eagles game. Lions just f**king suck, coaching, players, the works.

Lions just f**king suck, coaching, players, the works. This has been their worst game I've seen them play. They've actually had some decent moments in recent weeks where they looked to be becoming slightly more competitive. Today they've just fallen to pieces. They have such little talent on that team. Calvin Johnson will be an elite WR IMO if he isn't one already and Ernie Simms showed some talent in his first two seasons but had REALLY dissapointed this season. They also have a good kicker. How's that for a core to build around?

Gainzo
The '90 Patriots were the worst team of all time. Not only on the field, but in the locker room too. Yes they were. They averaged 11 points per game and gave up 28. That is the definition of suck. The 2008 Lions and 1996 Jets would crush that pathetic Pats team. SMC
The 96' Jets were God-awful. But watching the Lions this year has made me realize how terrible they really are. What team is worse, the 08 Lions or the 96 Jets? The 96 Jets may have been God-awful, but that was do, in part, to abysmal coaching. This Lions' team is historically atrocious. Parcells turned the 96 team around to be respectable in 97. I don't think Vince Lombardi in his prime could get this Lions team to 6 wins. The coaching is bad but the talent is worse. That defense is horrendous. They're also mighty small and slow. You really can't have a worse combination for a defense other than being small and slow. That 90 Pats team was pantheon awful. 28 out of 28 in points scored. 27th in points allowed. 26th in overall offense & 27th in overall defense. They beat the Jeff George Colts in Indianapolis 16-14 who ended up 7-9. Even though the Colts were 0-1 at the time, considering how historically bad the Pats were, that may be one of the greatest upsets in NFL history. JETS11269
Are last year's Dolphins up for debate? Think about it: if Stover hits that FG in OT, Phins end up 0-16.
Boynton Beach Jets
The 96' Jets were God-awful. But watching the Lions this year has made me realize how terrible they really are. What team is worse, the 08 Lions or the 96 Jets? The 96 Jets were not that "god=awful" it was the coaching staff that was "god-awful". This same team went 9-7 in 1997 with a new coaching staff. There was lots of talent on this team including Wayne Chrebet, Keyshawn Johnson, Mo Lewis,Marvin Jones, Aaron Glen and other qualty players on that 1996 team.
