The Thanksgiving Day Massacre

And just like Barry Sanders didn't play forever, the Lions will not be this bad forever.

They'll be somewhat competitive again at some point in the future.

I think that shows why they shouldn't leave any fixed team on Thanksgiving day every year. They're going to go through good and bad seasons, so during the bad it just makes sense to put a more exciting/playoff team in their place.

I am hereby, reneging on all aforementioned statements in which I supported the Lions keeping the Thanksgiving Day game for the sake of tradition.

Please, for the love of Christ......enough of this NFL.

End this yearly misery and embarassment.

This gtame was the DOG game of the month. I thought the Lions would put up more of a fight. :puke:

I don't mind the Lions being on TV every Thanksgiving. Every team should get a game before a national audience and this is the Lions day. It's not like there is even any guarantee that another game would be any good anyway. Look at this Mondays game- Jacksonville vs Houston. Before the year began the NFL figured that would be a good matchup. Is that any better than watching the Lions get beat up?

What a lousy day of pro football. Its fitting today is Thanksgiving because all 3 games were 3 turkeys

All 3 game utterly sucked. But one word of caution-I wouldn't want to have to make a decision with the family about whether or not I would go to a Jets home game on Thanksgiving Day. Kinda think that would totally suck. Let the Lions and Cowboys on some 3rd team have it.

.....my only wish yesterday was to have this years Jets team play instead of that crap last year --

Good point, we might not be in much of a position to call for an end to the Lions' Thanksgiving Day tradition after what we did last year.

Anyway the Lions got rid of Matt Millen, I think the league and the fans ought to at least keep the tradition alive for a couple of more years to give the new management team a chance to produce something decent on the field. I would hate to break such a long standing tradition, then find the Lions are good the next year.
