vinnys025
On numerous plays I would see the center engage Jenkins while the RG would chop his legs and slow him up. I'm surprised Jenkins didn't try to take one of their heads off. ...Bunch of classless cheap shot BI***s!!!

I'm surprised Jenkins didn't try to take one of their heads off. ...Bunch of classless cheap shot BI***s!!!It worked to the extent that they kept Jenkins and Ellis shuttled in and out all night. Now neither palyes every snap, but there were long stretches they each got breathers. If the Jets play the Broncos again, both should fake injury every time they want to take a break. Shanahan is a juvenile punk.
war ensemble
They had to resort to such methods because Jenkins had a good 70 pounds on the center. Double-teaming him with a few good hits to the legs seemed to be the gameplan. Was it me or did Jenkins play much less than normal? Our run D suffers tremendously when we're stuck playing Poo-bear. Jenkins would destroy the center one-on-one, as seen by that one running play.
JohnnyHector
Weren't you watching? They did take Jenkins out of the game.
serphnx
This is nothing new, they've been doing it for the better part of a decade. That's why the chop block rule was made in the first place. I hate the Broncos, if we meet them again I hope we run up the score. We should run it up every single time we play them until Shanahan goes. ThisYearsModel
Ever wonder why the Broncos running backs are successful no matter who they are? They teach illegal chop blocks and use them regularly. Refs don't call them anymore. When is the last time you saw one called?
madmike1
A dirty bush league embarrassed the jets at home. Good job.

The guy was lucky his chinstrap was loose.

Irish Jet
The Jets front did not adapt well to Denver's blocking scheme. The good news is there are very few teams who run that zone run blocking system and as long as we can avoid playing Denver again, we shouldn't have to deal with it down the line. That IMO is the main reason we struggled so badly against the run.

That has been his way in Denver since, well, forever.

For a converted fullback to average 5.9 YPC is pretty impressive.

That IMO is the main reason we struggled so badly against the run. This is why I wanted the first round bye so bad. I don't want to face a team like Denver in the first round. I'd much rather someone knock them off, and we get the 2 weeks to prepare for a better team that plays within the rules. You know teams like the Pats or Broncos would get knocked out in the first round. I don't know if it's possible for us to get that bye now. The Steelers have a tough schedule, I expect them to lose at least 1 more, probably 2 more games the rest of the way out. We still have a shot. If we get that bye I think we are serious SB contenders. Without it though, it will be tough. Even with it, the AFCC round is gonna be tough. Scott Dierking
That's why the chop block rule was made in the first place. The chop block rule was intiated after a Freeman McNeil block at the legs that took out a linemans knee.
