LoneStarLady
LOL!! We just put a few up last night, but some people down here go crazy with their lights. Maybe it's to make up for no snow. The neighborhood assoc even gives out small 3-foot Xmas trees for people to put on their lawns with lights. People put them right next to the curb. I've never seen that in all my years in New England.

I've never seen that in all my years in New England. I can tell you for sure that would NEVER happen in the most liberal state in the country - MASSACHUSETTS. No way! It's laughable, actually. slowmoe57
Aw cmon Bob where is your spirit. Just finished mine yesterday inwhich I call my 14 hour ordeal -- I use a glue gun to put the lights up since I have a brick house and it shows a more uniform look. All told about 1600 lights but the end result is worth it. This does not include the inflatable snowman and penguin and about 10 cutouts of elves scattered around the yard. The inside is decorated about twice as much. Takes almost 3 days to do and about 1 hour to take down. The things I do for my family HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Panzer Division Marduk
I put some up today, but the rest will probably go up next week or so. Time enough.

war ensemble
I don't mind the lights too much, but I think inflatables for any holiday are absolutely abominable. No offense to our inflatable users, but I'm yet to see one that looks good. Absolutely atrocious. Just one of my pet peeves, I suppose. I have a friend that puts up a good seven each for Christmas and Halloween on his small front lawn. Ugh.
Bob
That picture is not my house. It's from an email I got today. We don't do any outdoor stuff. We might grab some lights on sale after the holidays and dress things up next year.

Bergen Jet
and about 10 cutouts of elves scattered around the yard. The inside is decorated about twice as much. I don't see why you would want 10 of these in your yard and what exactly does it have to do with Christmas?
Bergen Jet
My decorating takes me about a solid day and a half and fortunately for me I have to work the next 2 Saturdays to get some major projects done before the end of the year... so I have a legit excuse to tone it down to just some lights.
