Breaking it down (Coaching Staff Issues)

This is a talented team with impact players on both sides of the ball...

The coaching staff needs serious work... here is a great way to explain why...

If this 2008 JETS team had a High School coaching staff since training camp, they would be 0-13 this season so far...

( put the same staff on the Lions and they are 0-13 )

If this 2008 JETS team had a hall of fame coaching staff they would be 13-0 right now...

( put the same staff on the Lions and they are 5-8)

With Mangini and crew they are 8-5 with some huge letdowns... this staff is not making the most of its players... they do not maximize their abilities and attack the opponents weakness... they just don't do it.

No offense, but do you think just maybe - maybe - all of you over-value the talent you have? Just sayin'. For example, you allegedly have a good secondary, yet your pass defense 'aint all that - and this is coming from a Pats fan who's team has NO secondary. Your excuse was coaching with Hermie the Clown, your excuse is coaching with Manjudas. Is it ever the players? Ever?

Do you think BB lost with this exact team the last 2 weeks?

No idea. perhaps. The Pats defense being being held together with popsicle sticks and elmers glue right now - so maybe you are right.

The Pats are a perfect example of getting the most out of what you have... the Phins this year too...

Flip it around... would Mangini be 8-5 if Favre went down week 1?

Would Mangini be able to lead Pennington and Ginn to 8-5...

Bottom line-this defense is not getting the job done. We have Pace, Gholston, Rhodes and Ellis doing very little good despite huge paychecks. Revis untril today has been good. The rest of the secondary is from hunger.

Barton is a jerk,a dope, a loser.

We generate zero pass rush. even when the Jets blitz, guys don't get there. Jenkins is very effective at stopping the run, but there's no worry because we give up up on 3rd down every game. TEs have contract-winning days vs. the JEts every week(gold star, there LB corps!). Someone has to explain how we russ 3 or 4, have 7 or 8 in coverage and still see recievers running completely free. Not merely open-free and clear away from ANY JET DEFENDER.

I don't know what the answer is. The Jets concievably could recover and get a playoff berht, possibly even win the division. But unless and until this defense improves dramitically it will be one and out.

Im gonna say NO to that. Team like the Pats, Steelers and Giants have lost alot of players and the 2nd and 3rd and 4th stringers step in and the team keeps winning. Coaching has alot to do with it.

As others have pretty much stated, you're just wrong on that. This team is pretty talented. A completely talentless team does not have 8 wins. Getting a bunch of former pro bowlers and guys in their primes and top draft picks together also don't just stink, and again, win 8 games. See, if we were just outmanned, I would not have a problem. Last year we were, even though I still took issue with the coaching, I just passed it off as not having the players. But mistakes keep being made, and it's clear to me the coaching is the source of the problem.

Let's put it this way. Herm always says he just doesn't have the players, but do you really think it's all on not having the players with Herm?
