Its clear the problem is NOT Sutton.

When you have little mishaps here, and there you blame the DC. When his play calling is alittle off you can fire him.

But this is not a playcalling problem. It has been a month since we have been exposed and there has not been an adjustment. We still love to play coverage, act like we are up 20, and its going to get WORSE every week. Think of it--Every week a QB has a career best performance against us. If the Head Coach disagreed with the play calling, or scheme he would have adjusted it by now.

The Problem is our Head Coach. Im not saying we should fire him(Although I do believe we should). Im just making sure you people know the answer is not firing Sutton because we will have the same results. Our HC loves this type of defense--Rush 3, stop the run, play coverage. We play prevent all game long.

This WILL NOT change while Mangini is here. So yes, we will have some good drafts, and good moves in the offseason but get used to seeing this defense. It will not change regardless of what DC(Rob Ryan etc) is here next year.........

Its a shame too...I love the talent on this team. We are just not putting anyone in the right position.

the real problem is Mangini doesn't scream and yell on the sideline. We all know that's the problem. I'd rather have the coach who got as lucky as lucky could be, going for it on 4th and 2 from the 2 down 10 with 12 minutes to go. KICK THE DAMNED FG and get within a TD. You got lucky today.

However, I want him because while his Xs and Os may be suspect, he jumps, screams and yells so he must be a better coach. HE HAS FIRE!!!

Good post KR!!!

Been saying this all season. Our problem begins with high level strategy, something Mangini sets the tone for. I'd like to see a fiery guy like Donnie Henderson come in here to balance out our sleepy head coach..

Actually, I'd like the team to sell out for Cowher next year but I don't think Tannenbaum will **** can his buddy..

there is seriously no fire in this team.

they look like zombies from outer space.

Exactly..

We need some fire, some passion. If it's not going to come from the coaches, we need it from someone on the field..

What about Bryan Cox? The should give him a red bull IV during games..

Im just so tossed up on Mangini right now. The Jets keep trying these guys with no experience and it just never seems to work. Groh. Herm. And now Mangini. We missed 2-3 years of good potential with the first two coaches and I really feel we are missing out on a great opportunity in a wide open AFC with Mangini leading the way. By 2003 I knew Herm sucked. I knew he wasnt going to get better and the team was just going to stall with him at the helm. I honestly dont know about this guy. He has shown he can pull off the upset. He has won in Foxboro. He won in Tennessee. He took a nothing team to 10-6 a few years ago. He never loses off a bye week. The problem is he has no idea how to handle success or a good team it seems. Tannenbaum went and got him 170 million dollars worth of parts when he really needed guys like Chad Pennington to make it work. Granted he will never get anywhere with someone like Chad, but he needs those nameless/faceless talents to get the job done right now. He is awful playing with expectations. I think the Jets this year are 4-1 straight up as an underdog, That is awesome. As a favorite they are 4-4 straight up which is unacceptable. Good coaches dont do that. They find ways to win in San Francisco and Oakland. New England found a way to win today because they have a great coach. The Jets find ways to lose because the coach is scared of winning with talent.

Right now Im sick of him, but maybe he can be something. If Favre threatens to bolt Id rather take my chances with Holmgren or Mariucci next year than Kellen Clemens, who I know is awful, and Mangini who we have to hope improves. But at the same time you hate to get rid of a guy that has shown more than the usual flash in the pan one year wonder coaches have done.
