Bergen Jet
While the Jets have lost a couple that they should have won they have beaten 4 legit playoff contenders this year (which doesn't include Buffalo who most believed were the real deal when we beat them). We have beat Miami, New England, Arizona and the Titans... While we have certainly proven that we can play down to the talent of inferior teams we have also proven that we can take out some of the teams that we may face in January. If this team gets into the playoffs (and my money is on yes) they have more than a puncher's chance. They run the ball well and they stop the run... they can usually control the battle in the trenches... they can play and win playoff type football. CTM
All true. I'm just not feeling too good about our chances of getting to the playoffs... We pretty much have to win out because we lost those 3 games against the AFC West, killing conference and common games tiebreakers..
JiFtheOracle
Its hard to look on the bright side right now, no doubt. But, I agree, I think if we can play like we did in Tennessee, we can beat anyone.

Bergen Jet
The bright side is that we can roll with anybody. The down side is that anybody can roll with us. If we get into the playoffs (and I think we do) we have proven that we can beat quality teams.
Maxman
The way they played against the Titans would leave you encouraged, no doubt. The pass defense and lack of a recent pass rush leaves me very concerned about their long term chances.

faba
The Giants proved again last year-you get on a roll and you can win the championship- We have going for us like Bergen said -we have been ablr to stop the run and we can run the ball. shawn306
This game is so HUGE it is not even funny. If they don't win this game and the same problems with the pass defense continue I could see the players starting to quit on Mangini. I'm not in locker room but you are already starting to hear the rumblings. It could be an outright eruption if the Jets don't win this week. There is alot on the line for Mangini regime Sunday. They better come through.

The Giants really do not have any holes I think the last couple of weeks have proved the Jets are a flawed team and they need the right match-up to win every week. It they get the right combination in the playoffs they could win or they could be one and done.
flgreen
They should beat the three teams to get in, but then again they should have beaten Denver and San Fran. We'll see

Dude..You are making an absurd statement.Players have to make plays and the PLAYERS know this..Last year the Jets at 4-12 NEVER quit in one game..They played hard right thru game 16..What makes you think the team at 8-5 is quiting..or any evidence of rumbling..Make the pre game Knute Rockne speech..please..this is the NFL,these are professional football players..self motivation is what got them here..Every week come up with this fiery speech..16 weeks..come on man..It doesn't work like that...Your not in the locker room..you don't know. Last year the Giants were 7-4 going into week 13 after getting man handled by the Cowboys, barely beating a bad Lions team (16-10) and getting destroyed by the Vikings (41-17) in the 3 prior games. The Giants got to 7 wins by beating up on Miami, the Jets, San Francisco and Atlanta...
NJ
I'm thankful as hell we've made quantum steps toward respectability - which you have to get to first from where we came from. We also got rid of Pennington which had us living in Groundhog Day for the better part of the decade. Now we've got a lot of the puzzle put together along with a first ballot HOF QB. You shrug off the early part of the seasons crappy play and chalk it up to a lot of new components. Then you look like a potentially elite team for a few games. You get ready to really nail down the division with a relatively soft schedule in your last 5 games and 2 mediocre teams kick your ass on both sides of the ball. And they do that because they simply studied you and came up with a decent game plan and you cant adapt or adjust to how they're playing you because your CS is stuborn, stupid, both - or they kinda just don't know what the fk to do. Thats a hopeless feeling because you think they might have to lose the rest of them to get sh!tcanned and thats unlikely. More Ground Hog day. Your gints example gives hope Bergen. I don't have any hope that Schottenheimer has a clue. But maybe Mangini will fire Sutton and ask for some help on how to make his pretty physically talented defense stop people. The Jets secondary outside of Revis and Rhodes (who is not having good year) is margin able at best the linebackers are horrible in coverage. The Jets cannot produce a natural pass rush. On offense they lack play makers outside of Leon Washington. They do not give any confidence in short yardage. Believe I hate the Giants and I bleed green more then anybody but I am also a realist and have been bitten to many damn times:Nuts:

Gainzo
If we do not there is going to be a lynching and it could get very ugly I understand that but the Jets are going to win easy. The Bills are in their normal death spiral so come Sunday night I expect JN to be talking Super Bowl. I'm not being sarcastic either as I expect the Jets to win easily. Everything just came together at the right time... They didn't become a juggernaut until the hot streak at the end and winning breeds confidence and more winning. If this Jets team can get hot ANYTHING can happen.
