Warfish
Come on all ye brave and opinionated Jet Fans, and put you reputation where your mouth is! Put down, for all to see, YOUR prediction of rushing production in 2005 between OUR Starter (Mr. HOF'er Curtis Martin) and the RAIDERS Starter (Mr. Out-of-the-Shadow Lamont Jordan). Carries/Yards/TD's Make your guess, your prediction. If nothing else, this should be pretty fun to look at in a year or so.....

Maxman
You want bold? Here is a prediction I made a long time ago and I stick by it. Lamont will never gain 1,000 yards rushing in any one single NFL Season.

stormshadow19
Honestly, I don't see Lamont getting that many carries. There aren't enough balls to go around in Oakland. Randy Moss, Jerry Porter, Ronald Curry, and Lamont Jordan? Curtis - 290 carries, 1145 yards, 7 TD's Lamont - 220 carries, 950 yards, 4 TD's

GoJETS
No predictions from me at this but I will say that the only way Lamont outrushes Curtis is Curtis gets hurt. Lamont will be good but he's going to look more like a Vikings back. He'll put up decent numbers but he won't force you to change your defense. He can't control a game the some of the good backs can...
YJF
Curtis Martin will not have the same season as last year 1,697 yards rushing 4.6 yards a run and 12 rushing TD's 2005(If they both play 16 games) Curtis Martin- 1,338 yards 4.1 yards a run 8 tds Lamont Jordan- 1,412 yards 4.5 yards a run 9tds

Lamont will be good but he's going to look more like a Vikings back. He'll put up decent numbers but he won't force you to change your defense. He can't control a game the some of the good backs can... How can anyone say that?? Jordan has yet to start a NFL game..And Martin doesn't Control Games..Also Martin has had his best years except for his Rookie year with Hackett as the OC!! Here's Reality! In 96 Martin had 1152 yd's and a 3.6 avg per carry! 97 1160 and a 4.2 per carry! On that Basis Tuna gave Martin a Huge Contract that the Pats couldn't match because it allowed Martin to Void the whole Deal after 1 year! That has since been made illegal! Top backs in 96 were guys like Sanders,Davis and they were in the 1500's and weren't making Money like that! In 96 Adrian Murrell had 1249 yd's on the worst Team in Jet History on 301 carries for a 4.1 avg and 6 TD's..You want to say Murrell was just a avg back?? I agree..In 98 on our AFC Championship Season loss Martin had 1287 yds for 3.5 yds per and his 14 yds on 13 carry Championship Game performance! Really took that one over! Martin is a Good back,I have never said he wasn't...But the thing that makes him standout is his amazing Durability and Longevity not because he's in the class of the great runners ability wise!
