Latinlawyer
How long has it been since the Mets played Meaningful games in September? Ya Gotta Believe. Let's look at the three other teams and see how we stack up: Phillies: Great bats, pitching is suspect, better than average Bullpen. This team will be in it through the end. Nationals: Can't hit, Pitching is above average, Bullpen is good. This team is starting to fade... Marlins: Can't hit, Awesome pitching, bullpen is suspect. This team looked like it was fading but now is holding its ground. Astros: STopped hitting, Amazing pitching, Bullpen is average. Looks like this team is sliding due to injuries. Mets: Starting to Hit, Great starting Pitching, average bullpen. This team is climbing and peaking. Why can't we take the WC? LL
GimmeShelter
This w/end is mandatory that we don't slip up against San Fran as the schedule afterwards include Philly-Florida, Atlanta and the Cards. The last 3 series are on the road. Schmidt and Lowry will be tough this w/end.
faba
The Mets have been lousy on the west coast trips usually even in their good years 4 game sweep was amazing in Arizona Traschel pitches tonight so we will have to see what he has coming off this injury

mbn007
Phils have the best overall team, IMO. But the Marlins have awesome starting pitching, and any team with Cabrera and DelGado in the lineup, can hit, period. Atros have the pitching, and Berkman and that surprise at 3rd base are the power bats, but is it enough? Offense has been woefull all year. Nats are pretty much out of it, IMO. Solid starting staff, weak middle relief, excellent closer, weak lineup. Mets have a shot. A realistic one. But the starters need to hold up all season long, as the offense is clicking now, but is not the type to win "smashmouth" Baseball.
T-Mac
"average bullpen" is more than kind, but yeah, the new #45 can have the same rallying effect the old one did.
