NIGHT STALKER
The defense is what's going to dictate how we finish this season. And riight now, I don't have confidence that our defense is capable of holding off the good teams...yes, they won the game for us today, but again, that was Loserman and the Jills. They're both good enough to win imo. It's just the coaches...

That's the thing, the offense was good enough in the first half, hell they were dominant in the first quarter, but they sputtered as the game progressed. This seems to be a trend with them and that worries me more. If the offense was able to be more consistent than this game should have been completely out of reach. Do you really see our defense stopping someone like Peyton Manning? I'm just picking him out because our pass rush makes any QB look good...imagine the Peyton Mannings of the game. It's tough to completely stop a Peyton Manning, but he can definitely be contained and limited. Pressure, pressure, pressure. When the QB has no idea where it's coming from and when it comes and when it doesn't, that's when your defense shines. The only time coverage works is when the QB thinks he's getting pressured and has to throw. If he just gets to sit around all day and just find someone, he'll do it. The game turned when we brought pressure. Before that we were sure to lose. A good coach is bringing pressure the entire game. Cowher said it in halftime, he'd bring 8. Maybe you give up a big TD, but the 4-5 scoring drives you stop because the QB is under pressure more than makes up for that.
PS17
Well if the Lions can hang with the Colts for 3+ quarters I don't see why we can't do the same...we did beat Tenn & NE.
Irish Jet
Nah I'm not buying it. Favre is too erractic with his throwing which EVENTUALLY will prove costly, especially in the playoffs. We can run as well as any team right now but we don't stick with it because of the dumb****s running the show. We also have absolutely no deep downfield passing game. JETS11269
Jets pass defense is one of the worst in the league; 31st I think. Which means bad news even if the Jets win in Seattle, because we all know how good a passing team the Dolphins have become. IMO, Pennington is the most underrated player in the league.
