NY JETS 29
Can we clinch the division this weekend with a win AND pats and phins loss? At worse then we could all finish 10-6, but where would that stand with tiebreakers?

Borgoguy
I heard on ESPN that if a Jet fan, dressed as Glouster from King Lear (authentic period regalia only!), shoots and kills a wild boar by 11:45 PM saturday with a crossbow outfitted with razor arrows dipped in curare, then we automatically make the playoffs this week. If the feral porcine is killed after this time, we need to defeat Miami in week 17. Hope this helps.

Get me the clothes and crossbow and I'd do it. ****, get me the clothes and crossbow and we can go out on a Tom Brady hunt.
neckdemon
no causwe miami beat SF, Oak, and Den. all teams we lost to. and since if they lose to KC but beat us they will have tied us with division record it goes to common games, and they beat all the teams we lost to. so the verdict is in.......we need to win the next 2 games to win the division.....and likely to even make the play-offs at all. kinda sad since we were once 8-3 and vying for a 1st week bye. mangini and co. suck pretty badly. I mean, the division would be nice and all, but it seems a shame to waste a perfectly good pig.

I don't make the playoff rules. Talk to the NFL. I agree wholeheartedly, the succulent meat from the boar would be rendered inedible. But, we could sell the bristles to manufacturers of fine shaving brushes. Maybe Max could work out a deal where the JetNation logo is emblazoned on each brush with the date of our playoff appearance and our opponent. 124
No, we could not because if Miami were to beat us Week 17 they'd still own the tiebreaker.
Don Jemo
The Jets have to beat Miami the last game to clinch the AFC East no matter whether they win or lose next week. If New England loses to Arizona, then the Jets can afford to lose to Seattle, but have to beat Miami anyway. So, for instance, New England and Jets lose next week and Miami wins, if we beat the Fins the last game and New England wins the last game, there is a 3 way tie again, but we have the tie breaker because we would be the only one of the 3 that only has 1 AFC East loss, the Fins and Pats would have 2 apiece.
