PatriotReign37
Cowher would never go to the Jets. Why would he want to deal with the NY media? We haven't made the playoffs yet. It's yet to be determined, at this point, that we're not going to finish 3rd in the division again. We all hope we make it. But we need to win out. If that happens, and we win the division at 11-5, I can't imagine him getting fired.

Especially if we have a first round exit in the playoffs. C'mon Sperm, you've seen the same games I have. It's obvious this guy is criminally overmatched and in over his head. We don't really need Duncegini to win 10 games over 3 years before it becomes obvious do we? If Mangini suddenly transforms into a competent coach in the next 2 games it is one thing. But if we play the same we have the past 3 weeks and luck into wins, this guy is no better than Herm imo.

For the purposes of this thread, we're working under the assumption of us not making the playoffs. Of course Mangini doesn't get fired if he goes 11-5, if we miss the playoffs, he's got to go imo.. PatriotReign37
And you know Cowher personally? No, but a board member sees him often in NC. He covets the Panthers job. Which figures since its sort of a small town like Pitt. NYJ makes no sense for Cowher. The Jets are years away from going to a SB with no QB for the future. Jet fans and media would never be as patient as the folks in Pitt were. You were probably one of the ones saying Favre wouldn't come here over the summer.. I was hoping Favre would go to NY because I knew he was washed up. His best playing days are way behind him and all the Jets got was a big name, like Jerry Rice. Its KC/Montana all over again. Sure the coaching is fine... are you joking? The whole ****ing country was laughing at the JETS defensive game plan last week... SHANNON SHARPE was giving advice on it... did you read that or should I type it again? SHANNON SHARPE! Of course this team can beat anyone in the league... any team can on any given Sunday... this team can also lose to anyone in the league on any given Sunday and has proven that as well... if the coaching was more solid they wouldn't be in this situation to begin with... The JETS players were upset because NO HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS were made, not me bitching on JN... the actual JETS players were bitching... Excuse me for wanting my team to be great, you can sit back and watch Mangini force feed his weak ass stubborn game plan down their throats and smile as they squeak out what should have been an easy win and get beat up by bad teams. If you watched any JETS games this decade you should know by now not to settle on a coach that gets you into the playoffs...

BS. If you go 1-4 in the last stretch against the easiest schedule in the league for that period, and miss the playoffs, you're gone. If he gets to 10 wins, he probably stays. If they make the playoffs, he's definitely here next year. It wouldn't surprise me if they lose the last two. I'm certainly not hoping for it, but it wouldn't surprise me. And why do we always trash the media when their opinions don't agree with ours? Personally, I'll believe someone who makes their living covering the NFL and has for a number of years over any poster on a message board.

Like Wade Phillips taking over the defensive play calling in Dallas? Funny that we don't see that out here. Maybe Mangini is another Herm and thinks if he doesn't do something it cannot be his fault. Sutton should have been gone after last season...Now we have a timid and scared defense that refuses to pass rush unless they are doing a run blitz and run into a sack like Elam's. glenn212
They are 9-5 and are 1-2 in their last 3 games... not exactly getting hot for the playoffs... Players came out and said Mangini made NO adjustments... Revis basically admitted the D gameplan sucks... Shotty has Favre lobbing it up for fun... Excuse me for not being THRILLED! WOOHOO!!! The JETS are in 1st place ahead of a Matt Cassell led Pats and a CHAD PENNINGTON led Dolphins! Why is it OK to make fun of teams who win their division with worse records than a wildcard team... except when its our own? flgreen
Well there should certainly be a job opening in Carolina with the Panthers playing so terribly this year. KC might be the perfect place for Cowher. I think Herm has worn his welcome out there. If you were a new GM coming in, would you hire Herm? I just don't see Cowher coming to NYC. I also felt the same way about Favre, but the circumstances are a bit different, Cowher walked away from a franchise he loved because his wife couldn't stand the pressure. I just don't see her agreeing to come to NY. Maybe he could live in Stepford.
