4HCrew
Not saying give it back, how about donate the rest to charity? it is not like the guy is hurting for cash. If anything the comment is a kick in the a$$ to his team to get rid of him which I am sure he wants anyhow.

Gainzo
sure bash the rookie...yawn At least Taylor is being honest. I haven't heard anything from the rookie all season. Gholston, the sixth pick of this year's draft, finalized a five-year contract Thursday, according to an NFL source. It's worth about $40 million, including at least $20 million in guarantees, making it one of the richest contracts in team history. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2008/07/24/2008-07-24_jets_ink_draft_pick_vernon_gholston_to_f.html

JetFanBird
haha at this point he's lucky if he's worth league minimum. We'll see... A couple years from now when he's beating Long for sack after sack, we will see who is worth more.
124
You want him to give them back? I don't car who you are. If you're getting overpaid you're not gonna complain about it. You don't think he has enough money from over the years? If he doesn't than he is clearly an idiot with his money. Give me $5 million (and this guys makes more than that a year) and I can do nothing the rest of my life work wise. These guys just piss money away like its water. What he should do is either give a portion of it back or donate it to charity, as 4H said.

Yeah, maybe if they invent a time machine in the next 10 years. JT has reoccuring back problems due to his lenky frame which is only gonna get worse with age not to mention a lack of desire to play the game. Jetfan13
Here I go showing my age again but i remember when Reggie Jackson signed for the astronomical amount of $1,000,000..When asked about it he said, and I quote, "They offered it to me, was I suppossed to turn it down?" You're still optimistic that your $40,000,000.00 bust might still be able to play.

You're still optimistic about Penny boy leading the Phins to the promise land. Have fun with that dream while you can because I have a feeling you'll soon be sent back to reality. Vudu
Oh he's just salty because he dissed the Fins and they actually have a better chance to contend than the stupid Redskins do.

I remember when Pennington got $64M and strangled our salary cap. Everybody on here said "it's the Jets fault for offering it." Hopefully these aren't the same people saying Taylor should give the money away. That would be hypocritical. And I still contend it is communist. Gainzo
Why should he give it away? You people are a bunch of communists. Well said. I understand that the majority of Jets fans detest Taylor but why are they ripping him for speaking the truth? I'm sure he gives to charities.
