Gainzo
NESN (the station that televises Red Sox and Bruins games) are doing something really cool tonight. I'm watching the game and Caroline is doing the play-by-play right now. Very cool stuff. Here is the info. Two Jimmy Fund Clinic patients to help broadcast Bruins-Maple Leafs game on NESN on Thursday, Dec. 18 BOSTON
Jet Moses
Good stuff. I just watched a heartbreaking feature on the news before about deaf/blind people and a home in NYC giving them a cool Christmas. Wow. The things we take for granted. I understand that my post was about a Boston team but shouldn't the kids with cancer override that? Caroline and Eric were excellent tonight. Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley took over when they couldn't keep up with the action on the ice but they were very good about doing that.

Hey, I'm just glad I made it to 42 and it was long enough to find my way home, and to find my way to the truth. I have no fear of death. But when I look at kids who never had a chance to live this life, it's not about a fear of death. Life is still worth living, whether you fear death or not. There is a reason why we were all afforded this opportunity. So let's make the best of it, together. And rejoice that we will all be as one again. We come from somewhere, you know? And we will go back there, wherever there is. And just like we experience variety on this side, we will experience variety on the spiritual side. There is good, bad and ugly here, and there is good, bad and ugly over there. I'm hedging my bets towards the good.

I just watched a heartbreaking feature on the news before about deaf/blind people and a home in NYC giving them a cool Christmas. Wow. The things we take for granted. What did they do for deaf people? And why? I know that sounds cruel, but my college had National Technical Institute for the Deaf, and they're completely normal people, who function perfectly in society. I've socialized with a dozens of deaf people on dozens of occasions. (They're the only ones who like me ) My good friend learned sign language, and made I bunch of friends, I did what I could as far as communication goes. I know for a fact that most don't like to be grouped in a 'handicapped'. There's actually a huge deaf culture. That's why I ask.

This group home is for people who are both deaf and blind. As am I. Seek the truth, and the truth will set you free. Great stuff! I love this time of the year - tends to bring out the best in people. The trick is to keep it rollin' 24/7, 12 months a year.

Ah, see, that would make more sense. Its been my personal experience that the deaf people I know have had little interest in pity, or charity. That's why I asked. shawn306
The Jimmy Fund is a great org... My wife is the treasurer of our girls elementary school PTO. They learned recently that a family with kids who go to school with my daughters had their house foreclosed and were now living in a Motel. They raised some money for presents, bought food and snuck in a microwave so they could at least have a warm xmas dinner. Just some of the little things that you usually don't see but now you are seeing more often especially during these tough times.
