Kerry Rhodes. I expected a Pro Bowl type season with big plays this year and basically he hasnt given us any. Scheme or no scheme it is still disappointing. I cant be upset with the play of Thomas, Coleman, and Baker because I knew going into the season they were JAGS that wont give you much anything. Harris got hurt so you give him a pass. Coles comes close with his lax attitude early on and lately and I think Favre has been a disappointment too.

The vet has to be B.T. after admitting you gave up and didn't put forth effort you didn't deserve to be here. But, a lot of people gave him a pass here because he was honest about it. I on the other hand thought he was a bum for taking the money and doing jack for it. Another season with him doing absolutely nothing in the pass rush. With Baker we all knew what to expect. Most of the passes are going to keller at the te spot and I'm fine with that. Tell Chris B. to shut his mouth and block. As far as new players go I'm sure everyone will agree it's Ghoulston. I'm not saying cut him, he still needs a few years, but as of right now, homeboy isn't even on the field. So, crappy choice by the jets. that's what they get for drafting a work out warrior. Yeah, I said it again sue me.

To add on to that, Coles and B. Thomas have been fine in my opinion. Thomas started off real strong and has slowed down a bit, but has been ok. As for Rhodes, he has always been a little overrated. Had a lot of that right place at the right time as far as fumble recoveries and ints. But overall he is still solid.

kenyan coleman

I literally haven't noticed him do something positive once this year

not once

Then you must not watch the games or you must not know much about the game because Coleman has been FANTASTIC against the run this year as he was last year. Guy is an absolute stud of a run defender.

O rly ?

then how do you explain how teams avg 4.5 adjusted line of scrimmage when they run at him ?

or why they run at him more than ellis ?

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/dl

This second table lists each team's Adjusted Line Yards in each direction listed in official NFL play-by-play, along with rank among the 32 teams. Only five directions are listed because research so far shows no statistically significant difference between how well a team performs on runs listed middle, left guard, and right guard. It's early in the season, so take these numbers with a grain of salt. These runs are from the perspective of the OFFENSE, so a run listed as LEFT TACKLE is actually at the RIGHT defensive end.

4.50 - 21

besides that

what is his signature play this year ?

Coleman plays LDE and goes against the opposing team's RT. Ellis plays RDE and goes against the opposing team's LT.

So you're reading your stats totally backwards.

Hope that helps.

For more proof, Kenyon Coleman had 83 tackles last season. Did you read that correctly? 83 freaking tackles from the DE spot in a 3-4 defense! Think about that. These are not "Jonathan Vilma inflated tackles" either my friend. It is not like Coleman was making worthless tackles 5+ yards down field. When Coleman makes a stop, it is at, behind, or near the LOS.

At the same time that Coleman was recording 83 tackles last season, Ellis had 49.

This year, Coleman only has 39 tackles while Ellis has 54. You know why that is? Teams realize it is worthless running the ball at Coleman so they are running the ball more at Ellis (the RDE) and having more success then when running less times at the LDE (Coleman) and your numbers that you posted support that.

I'll give you a few minutes to rethink that and correct your post

http://www.newyorkjets.com/team/depth_charts/

Haha!!!

You're going by our site's depth chart? The same one Mangini said he told an intern to simply "post something on there." ?

Do you watch the games?

Go to NFL.com. Go to Shaun Ellis' player page. I'm sure they will have highlight videos of his fumble return TD from last week. Watch the video and I guarantee you Ellis will be going against the LT and Coleman the RT.

If you don't know what you're talking about, please don't talk. I can't believe I'm having this discussion with you if you don't know that.

Your better pass rusher goes against the LT and your better run stopper goes against the RT. On 3rd and long where they are obviously throwing you might move Ellis to LDE so he can go against the RT and hopefully get pressure. But on 90% of our defensive snaps, Ellis is vs. the LT, Coleman vs. the RT.

Ok. You got me there, but I was admittedly guessing about that particular play. Ellis goes against the LT more than he does the RT. Do you disagree with that?

**Edited to add**

Crap. I said guarantee. Should have said "probably guarantee" but I didn't. Sh*t happens. :bag:

I have to say I do. I am going to go on record ellis is the LDE and lines up over the RT

with that said, they do flip-flop, but I think Ellis is over the RT most of the time

on a lighter note, I found out this is his full name

MeShaunda Pizarrur Ellis

:D
