JonEJet
http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL/N...enzie030405.htm PFW has learned that the Giants have made their second big splash in this year's free-agency pool by agreeing to terms with ex-Jets ORT Kareem McKenzie on a seven-year, $37.75 million deal, with a $12.5 million signing bonus. The 25-year-old is slated to earn $18 million in the first three years of the deal and becomes one of the highest-paid right tackles in the NFL. If McKenzie plays out this entire contract, he will earn more than Jonas Jennings, who plays the more-coveted OLT position and who signed a seven-year, $36 million deal ($12 million in total bonuses) with the 49ers. His deal also compares favorably with Colts ORT Ryan Diem's seven-year, $32 million deal, which includes $12.75 million in signing bonus. The Giants shored up their LB corps by signing ex-Redskins MLB Antonio Pierce Thursday to a six-year, $26 million deal. On Friday, they addressed another area of major need by agreeing on a deal with the 6-6, 327-pound McKenzie, who was considered to be the top right tackle available this offseason. Entering his fifth NFL season, he turns 26 in late May. "Kareem is very happy," agent Kevin Poston told PFW. "He gets to come home
Mean Papi Green
again, he doesn't deserve to be paid that much, he had a bad year and was sloppy as hell all season, didn't even work his ass off in his contract year, there's no way I would give him that coin see ya, but hope we can recoup

Three guys I knew or didn't care that we'd get back: Mac, Becht and Jordan. All I wanted to do was try and replace them. Damn. Are we looking at the start of the Adrian Jones era? RichardSeymour
I'd worry more about the decaying dynasty before taking shots at the Jets. They seen to be like rats fleeing the Titanic. OK... 1) "Decaying Dynasty" is one of those pretty stupid insults. That's like saying "You had a threesome with Laetitia Casta and Selma Hayek every day for three years.... but then they moved on.... HAHAHA" or "Hey, you lost six billion dollars! Now you're only the fifth richest man in the world. Loser." It doesn't sting much Dude, IF we really do have a decaying dynasty I'll cope. I'll huddle up with my THREE superbowl DVDs (Six actually when you include the uber-cool three games to glory) and Superbowl memories. You know all those fond recollections of SB 3 and Joe Namath that have gotten you guys through the last 36 years of mediocrity and occasional outright sucktitude? I have THREE TIMES that treasure trove of memories banked and loaded. A "Decaying Dynasty" is a problem you and every other Jet fan would give all of your midget testicles to have. 2) BWAHAHAHA. Wishful think away. Roman Phifer, Troy Brown, David Patten, Ty Law and Joe Andruzzi will be a combined 163 years old next opening day. Average age: 32.6 years old. Belichick is cold-blooded. Efficient. Ruthless. He's pruning the deadwood and setting this team up RIGHT. Did we lose Brady, Seymour, Warren, Wilfork, Harrison, Wilson, Light, Graham, Branch, Givens, Koppen, Watson, Vrabel, Dillon? No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No. Both Andruzzi and Patten signed overpriced but not rediculous contracts. Both noted that they were "surprised the Patriots didn't make more of an effort to keep them". Of course the Patriots didn't make more of an effort: the Patriots let them go to get closer to the holy trinity. The holy trinity? Younger. Cheaper. Better. That's the mantra. Decaying dynasty my ***.

Decaying dynasty my ***. Wow !!!!! I give off a one word PatsFanTX line and I get a lecture from our resident Pat head. I don't know if I should bow down or laugh my you know what off. Okay I've decided Seymour you should know better than that. Your diatribe there sounded like a Yankee fan trying the beat back the drums of the Scapegoat Nation. Your core is still there (Minus one very important cog Bruschi) and yes you are still a playoff team but a see alot of who were major pieces in the Pats run heading out the door. Now who knows. Maybe the Pats go out and make some moves, come up big in the draft and the run continues. For now though the cracks are starting to appear. No Givens. Brown is probably gone. Law is probably gone. Bruschi is probably gonna retire. Ole man river McGinest; gone. I remember back in 2003 alot you laughing at the Jets fans who were saying losing Coles, Hall, Morton was no big deal. Well you guys got the last laugh (AGAIN  )when they went 6-10. A Pats trasition year is very very posssible.

Just wanted to share this tidbit unless it got lost..... RT Kareem McKenzie took a parting shot at the Jets, in response to questions as to whether he was surprised that the team didn't try to re-sign him: "Not at all, because in looking at the history of the Jets and seeing how they have trouble keeping key players to maintain consistency, you never know what to expect around the corner. So you just prepare yourself for the worst."
