BroadwayJ667
First off as bad as Mangini has looked, he has given the Jets two winning seasons. not many of the other HC's from the same time he was hired can say the same. HOWEVER, i am not defending him, he has looked goofy and out of place recently. If the Jets quit on Mangini against the Fish, Mangini is gone. (if the Jets win, oh boy is that a mess) I know a lot of people are clammoring for Cowher, but lets switch things up a little bit, Spags is equally qualified, his defense is still performing at a high level, sans his two best pass rushers. Steve is familiar with the new york media and probably more so with the Jets than Cowher is. oh and the real thing that excites me, he has a defense that attacks instead of waiting for things to happen. Btw, if Favre realistically can't play any more next season. 10 - 12 million comes off the books right, swap that money with what Matt Cassel will earn. Thank you
124
I'd rather Rex Ryan from Baltimore, a man who knows how to run a 34 Defense. He would certainly pluck someone from the Baltimore staff to help him run it as his Defensive Coordinator. He gets my vote if Cowher either doesn't want to come to New York or isn't ready to come back to the NFL.

Ryan runs a GREAT defense, it's so complex and and aggressive, exactly what I'd love to see come to NY.
SoFlaJets
don't you guys think we've given the "let's hope he works out even though he's never been a head coach" thing 9 years and can say it's been a failure then a slight success then another year of failure followed by maybe a one and out playoff deal followed by a disaster and then a big tease like say this year. Give me a real ****ing head coach (like Cowher) for this team before I die please Woody

Lil Bit Special
Pete Carroll's stuffed beaver could have led the jets to the playoffs this year. I say we bring Herm back. He sweeps the corners.

124
Their best player is Tuck. Uminyoura is REALLY REALLY overrated. No he isn't and no he isn't. Why the sudden urge to return to the NFL forum, mike?
madmike1
No he isn't and no he isn't. Why the sudden urge to return to the NFL forum, mike? Just like Trent Edwards is bigger than Brett Ratliff right? I never went anywhere.
124
Just like Trent Edwards is bigger than Brett Ratliff right? I never went anywhere. NFL.com's heights and weights are always on mark. I guess you're going to tell me Leon Washington is 200lbs too.
madmike1
I don't see how anyone can say Tuck isn't the giants best player. He plays all positions on the line, is GREAT against the run and could be a beast in the 3-4 or 4-3.
Irish Jet
Meh, Tuck may be their best player but to say Osi Umenyiora is overrated is just ****ing ridiculous. He is an elite DE and losing a player of his quality would hurt any team.
Gen X Jet
Don't want to wait another 5 years to get 4-3 players in here so Spags is out as an option in my mind.
Irish Jet
I said that before but to be honest it's a MUCH quicker transition from 3-4 to 4-3 than vice-versa.
Matt39
Osi is more like JAbe. Tuck is an all around monster. Tucks a better player than Osi.

Thank you Spags and Cowher aren't equally qualified though. Based on qualifications Cowher is heads above. Since he has already been a head coach, ran camps, dealt with media and the business side as well as having been responsible for all the in game stuff. Spags has proven he is a very good coordinator. Cowher has proven he is a very good coach.
