afosomf
i bought into Favre like most everyone else i believed they would be more watchable, i missed the wide-open O and the vertical game and for the 1st half of season.. it was fun I also knew that we would have to put up with his dumb Int's and Pick 6's that is Favre and will not change What pissed me off the most, was all the 3nd down and short yardage situations, where he throws incomplete a 25 yd pass into double coverage Get the F'n 1st down, swing passed to Leon, wildwing with Leon, 5 yd passes to TE. Did he call most of these plays? WTF If not we have the dumbest CS evah.

4HCrew
As much as he has aged I am starting to think this coaching staff does not know how to develop an offense for ANY qb. stoicsentry
It's not all on him. How about when we are 3rd and short and the play call is a Shotgun empty set. That is awful playcalling. In an obvious running situation like this you need to at least have a back on the field. You do not necessarily need to play action if you're going to pass, and you certainly do not need to go I-form, but you simply cannot telegraph that it's a pass by putting an empty set out there. Even a HS coach knows this. While we're on the subject of it not being all Favre's fault, I have three more points. One, pass block. Ok? Learn how to pass block. We block the run well but our pass blocking is not good. Two, as much as I have been a supporter of Coles, can you hold on to the ball please. Please. Three, again on the playcalling, you simply do not throw it that much, especially down the field, in the conditions we had with Seattle. Don't do it! And its obvious that this CS has no clue how to run an offense to the strengths of the unit make a QB productive in their system. Just look to Miami for proof. Being named to honors doesn't make it that you are that player. Brett was an ill fit for the Jet offense from Day 1. What would you say our strength was then? The Chad dump off pass? Come on... If that was our strategy on offense we were going anywhere anyway. Maybe we need to start from scratch at WR. You CAN"T start from scratch at WR, you are heavily vested in those positions. I am not advocating that Chad was going to be the guy, just that Favre NEVER, NEVER fit this offense. It was square peg meets round hole from day 1. The Jets strutured an entire off-season of building a team one way, and then brought in Brett Favre that fit it in a a whloe other way. Think about it, you have WR's that have difficulty getting separation, what do you do to help them achieve that? TIME, You have to give them TIME. Let plays develop and unfold where there is an element of guessing where the ball is going to come out from the QB and when. What do the Jets do-Bring in a QB who is a strict pocket passer and legs of lead. Just horrible. Do you wonder why pass rushers are so effectiuve agaisnt teh jets in pass situations? The O-line is not THAT horrible. They know PRECISELY where Brett is going to be, and don't have to worry about breaking lanes and containment. It is a sitting duck Chad has no mobility either, though. It that's your assessment- that we have WR's who cant get separation then we were screwed either way. Cotchery is solid- but I think he'd fit better in a Wes Welker role in the slot. He's too slow to be split out wide. Welker has made a living of going over the middle- he's doesnt have much speed either but is as tough as nails, as is Cotch. Coles needs to go. Its over. Let his act go somewhere else. Schotty is a complete moron. At least Hackett had a feel for the game. Even though I totally disagreed with his philospohy- there was a plan. Schotty seems to have zero. PatriotReign37
I am hoping for Pats to lose to make our game meaningful Not counting on it though The Jets game is meaningful. (1) Mangini cant have the QB that he cut, comeback and end his playoff chances on his resume. That would hurt his chances of ever landing another decent HC position in the NFL. (2) The Jets wont know the outcome of the Jax vs Balt game since they play at the same time.

It is a sitting duck They're so effective vs the Jets in passing situations because our WRs cannot get separation. Unlike Chad, Favre tries to make a play by holding on to the ball and waiting for them to get separation, instead of dumping it off and punting the ball. Only problem is our WRs cant get separation. Coles is a has-been and Cotchery cant even beat a safety or linebacker over the top. Not to mention the coaching staff cannot call a game good enough to negate their inability to separate.
