JMJ
Did anyone here Benigno and Roberts' show today? They played a clip of Mangini saying how he and his coaches began game planning for Miami last week. Maybe you should have spent that time planning more for Seattle. Then maybe you'd control your own destiny you piece of sh*t, sorry excuse for a NFL head coach. Go cry your way back to Bellichick so his genius can hide your idiocy you incompitent slapnut. JMJ
Coaches always start game planning for next week on Friday I believe.. No. He made mention (or at least they made it sound like he made mention) that he was doing so due to the x-mas holiday this week and wanting to give him, his coaches, and players time away. They went off on him saying they understand that but you're all paid millions of dollars to do what you do. If you have to work a little extra on the week of x-mas you do it and don't jeopardize last week for some time off this week.
JMJ
Coaches always start game planning for next week on Friday I believe.. Also, Teams practice on Fridays and that is the day they install the majority of their gameplan for that weekend's upcoming game (ie: walk through and run the actual plays they are going to use on Sunday). That is why you hear a lot of the time, "If a player doesn't practice on Friday he won't play in the game." Friday is a VERY important day for the upcoming weekend's game. If they do ANY preparing for the following week, it is miniscule if at all. Especially because they won't have the most up to date info and video on the following week's opponent as their opponent hasn't played their weekend's game yet. There is no sense in preparing for Chad Pennington on Friday if he gets injured on Sunday's game before you face him. So I would have to seriously disagree with you trying to downplay this. jason423
Coaches always start game planning for next week on Friday I believe.. I thought so as well. Once the gameplan is set for the week I thought they start having the guys cut tape and go over stuff so its all ready early in the week. Usually that is after the Friday morning practice. Now if he meant early last week that is different. Maybe he prepared for Seattle the way he would if a game was on Thursday and tried to cram 2 weeks worth of work into 1 week because of the holidays. Thats kind of screwed up if its the case. GimmeShelter
Joe Gibbs used to have game plans partially done 3 weeks in advance. Much to do about nothing.
JMJ
Joe Gibbs used to have game plans partially done 3 weeks in advance. Much to do about nothing. Obviously it is because it was obvious that is not our norm from the way he discussed it. If that was Joe Gibbs' norm then that is fine. But this for Mangini was not business as usual and look, WOW, we dropped a stinker in Seattle and no longer control our own destiny. Coincidence? Maybe. But if we have poor game plans to begin with, and then half-assed them to get ready for this week to give people time off, I'd say it is more reason than coincidence in this case. Scott Dierking
I often plan my lunches ahead of time, too. While I may be thinking that Bologna and cheese sounds good for Tuesday, I am secretly eyeing Tuna and soup for Wednesday. My stomach gets pissed. People just need one more reason to bitch and moan, as if we didn't already have enough reasons with the way things have been going. As has been stated here already, this is common practice in the NFL. Single-A semi-pro baseball, not so much
