StillerPaul
For only one young player on your team. That goes for all the Pats and Fins fans here that want to participate as well. Yea this is an effort to provoke football discussion despite the way the Jets have done you guys lately. Anyway my choice is Lawrence Timmons. This kid hasn't quite cracked the lineup yet at the end of his second season. But he does play full time in the nickle D. IMO he will be a multi pro-bowler, and recognized as one of the best LB's in the game by the time he hits year 4 or 5. He has closing speed like few others and when he gets there, he hits like a truck! He had a sweet INT return against NE a few weeks ago despite running out of gas inside the 5 if ya want a reference point. So that's the one young player i really look forward to watching develop as a Steeler. Who would be you guys' one young player?

Gainzo
easily Revis. Good call on Revis. Mangold? Not going to happen as long as Mawae is still in the league. Mawae has the advantage as he is a player rep and has Bren voting for him 9000 times every season!

StillerPaul
Vernon Gholston Dead Serious. I think he'll turn out OK too. It's a big adjustment learning the pro 3-4 imo. Hell Timmons was drafted as OLB with the 15th overall pick then we picked Lamarr Woodley right behind him in round 2. Woodley ended up getting a ton more playing time last year while alot thought Timmons to be a bust. We switched him to ILB and while he didn't beat out Foote there was still no sense of panick with bringing him along. He's just learning at a different pace than Woodley did i guess. You guys should see marked improvement with Gholston in the near future IMO.

Says the guy who lives in Ohio I can't recall the last time I saw a top ten pick in the draft made inactive as Gholston was for the Bills game. GodWearsAGrayHoodie
Vernon Gholston Dead Serious. Gholston has the potential to be both an utter Jets draft bust and an all-pro player. If next year he is a semi-decent special teamer and sub, then year 3 a competent starter, then year 4 finally becomes the player he was projected to be from day one, then in year 5 hit all pro-level in time to become a FA than in terms of draft pick and money he will be a bust for the Jets, but also an all-pro. Jetscode1
Nice thread...since the other posters already posted some of my favorites (Mangold, Revis, and Keller) I pick David Clowney. He may have got hurt this preseason but I think he could have a breakout season with the right QB. He runs excellent routes, has a great burst, and very strong hands. Still needs to develop his upper body strength so he can stay healthy. More repetitions and this guy can be the deep threat we've been missing since Santana Moss left. Also, count me as a believer in Vernon Gholston going to the Pro Bowl as a member of the JETS. As far as the other teams and players mentioned...Timmons is a great athlete who could definitely make a future All-Pro. Just needs more reps...tough to get with all the good LBs in Pittsburgh. Mayo and Langford...was really hoping both would somehow get picked by the JETS in last years draft. (Both on my mock draft for the JETS last year). All great picks and already solid players who I'll have to root against for the next decade at least...
