JetsTitans63
The JETS didnt have the necessary WRs for Favre to be Favre. Schottenheimer and Mangini tried to change Favres ways. The guy is 39 yrs old and has ben doing what he does best year after year until the JETS tried to change all that and the result is quite obvious failure. Blame Eric Mangini for Favres demise this year. Favre likes to take chances down field. The JETS dont throw the ball downfield. I havent seen an all out downfiled attack since Al Toon was in a JETS uniform.
rillo
IDK, I see a lot of open guys over the middle and in the flats. Seems like Favre just wants to throw the deep ball and doesn't like to check it down. If he would just check it down, Jets can keep the drives alive....o'well. Larz
you need to accept a simple truth favre sucks and makes rookie throws check that, even ryan and flacco don't make those throws
JetsTitans63
The JETS lack 2 ingredients to be succesful. A WR who is tall and fast and can burn the field and a legitimate every down pass rusher. Guarantee Favre you go out and get the WR in the off season he may stick around 1 more year. Actually, watching Favre as much as every non-packer fans has, which is more than any other player probably and, most notably the year he leost the SB(going for the re-peat) against Elway. It was two great QB's going at it. IMO, Favre's greatest strength was NOT the deep ball, that was Vinny with the browns or Jeff Blake LOL or even Kenny O but Favre's strength is fire strkies between 10-20 yards between defenders. He throws ropes, not bombs, as we saw with his attempts a few weeks ago, he just heaves it. We saw Favre at his best during the 6 td game. Firing to LC in the back of the end zone. That, along with moving around to buy time were his strengths, well we know he can no longer move. He is noe Kenny O and Vinny in that department. What the A$$hole jets staff did was simply insert him into Chad's offense. Chad cannot throw ropes, he can throw timing patterns and screens, that's what we made Favre do, we took away his game but in that way!! Hey, it's 6 one 1/2 dozen the other. We got Favre and didn't bother changing anything for him. And as long as we are playing blamegame. Kris Jenkins conditioning this year was horrid, he lost all of his steam after week 10!!!!!!! He is PAID TO PLAY EVERY RUNNING DOWN!!!!Pouha, the useless piece of crap should NEVER be in on first down! with that said: Merry Christmas and one Mantra BEAT THE FISH> I don't give a crap if we make it or not(actually i do), but if we knock the fish out I'm happy. Either way, I pray for a REAL coach and I pray for the RAT era to begin.
kellypkjoe
Farve's arm has been shot for over a month. He under throws every deep pass. He can't reach his deep receivers anymore. And his strenght at GB was deep passes.
JETfrmWOMBtoTOMB
Yea yea we know... It's everybody else's fault but Favre's. I hope he just retires already. Vudu
I agree to some extent. Our WR's can barely get separation. To be honest SOME of Favre's picks couldve been avoided had our recievers possesed the ability to outrun CB's. But let's be honest, MOST of those balloons Favre throws up are pathetic. #27TheDominator
What would Favre do with a true burner? Presumably he would underthrow him by ten yards instead of the five he's been underthrowing these slugs.
shawn306
It is funny how things go full circle. Last year it was the QB's fault that he (be it Clemens or Pennington) or the OL fault that we couldn't go deep. Now it is the receivers fault. The Jets though DO need a guy who can go grab the long ball (ala Wesley Walker). They don't even need to use a top pick on him. A guy like Dedric Ward did a nice job during his time here going deep allowing KJ and Chrebet to grab most of the mid-range and short balls. Just someone who can even pose that threat would be nice. Maybe Clowney is that guy. Or maybe even Stuckey. Right now though it is obvious that they need some kind of burner out there.

Yup, our WR's are certainly not innocent as to what's went on this season but when they gave got seperation downfield (which is rare, especially for Cotchery) Favre has been awful. There's a reason he's been one of the worst QB's in the league with passes that travel over 20 yards.

And his strenght at GB was deep passes. I think he is hurt. I think he has been hurt. I think teams finally realized it and began to press our very mediocre wideouts. They cannot separate. p.s. Brad Smith really sucks. He is a disgrace as a wideout. It is now 3 years and counting.

gang_green03
How about we stop acting like one specific person or thing deserves all the blame. Its a combination of many things like it always is in most situations. Our WR's haven't always done a good job getting separation but that doesn't excuse Favre's sometimes terrible decision making. JetsTitans63
Go view some Favre video from years ago. Take notice he has started his throw from the hip alot lower than usual. My guess is to get velocity on the ball. If hes hurt sit him down and turn this team over to Brett Rattlif.

Green DNA
I think Favre has a sore arm and can't make the deep throws. However, the Patriots won their first SB rarely throwing a pass over 10 yards the entire season, so maybe Schott and Favre need to wake the eff up. DoubleDown
People saying our WR's get no separation are not paying attention. The separation is fine, the ball is simply not being delivered. How many times have our WR's had to slow down for the ball this year? It seems to happen every week.

RSJ
I'm sorry that Coles can't catch passes that aren't right at his numbers. I'm sorry that Keller can't catch a cold lately. You guys are unreal. I'm showing up at this weeks game thread to point out all of the 8 men in the box, single coverage on the outside and drops these POS WR's make. What is GB's record without Favre this season verse with him last season?

Favre always tosses it up deep when there is a CB on the WR and CB + Safety help on that same WR... thats why it seems like the WR is slow... its because once the ball is lobbed up the defenders have 10 minutes to blanket the WR...
