Hey JN,

What do you guys wanna change with the upcoming year? What are your resolutions?

Me:

  • Run 18 - 20 Miles a week
  • Actually have a healthy relationship.
  • Go to more than 1 measly JETS game next season
  • Lure my mother over to the Green side ( She's a Giants fan)
  • Stop biting my nails.
  • Lose 8 lbs so i can fit in those size 4 Skinny jeans I bought a month ago. :baby:

my wife and I were getting out and walking at least once sometimes twice a day (1 1/2 to 3 miles a day) at the park but when we had to take care of the grand-kids while my daughter was about to pop for like 3 weeks in a row it knocked us off schedule and now my resolution (which I never usually make) is to get back to walking EVERY DAY and those stomach crunches too were helping

I need to stop biting my nails and I need to sart running 20 miles a week. I also need to up my Jets football attendance next year. 8-10 pounds lost would be nice also. Basically we have the same list minus the relationship part (that is one area I am lucky in).

Good luck on your resolutions. Hopefully we are all successful in meeting our 2009 goals.

Some of these might seem rather abstract, but I make 'em practical:

-Be "more generous"; get into a habit of sharing smaller things (ie. a bag of chips, candy, finger food) equally among friends when in public. Small stuff like that, like offering my seat at family events or to a complete stranger on the subway. Also, holding doors for people without getting pissed off when they don't acknowledge my existence. I gotta work on that.

-Be "more productive"; spend less time doing crappy stuff and later pissing myself off by reflecting on how much time I've wasted, and spend more time doing things I truly enjoy like reading and playing music. There's a few education-specific goals here, but I'd rather not bore you guys with the details.

-Write daily in my journal. It seems to encourage my philosophical musings; I can write whatever I want without anyone bothering me with a response. It's great to read over in future years too. Although my attacks on certain topics can get pretty nasty...

-Get a daily workout thing going. As I get older, I figure my metabolism will decrease, so I might as well get going on a healthy diet/workout regime beforehand. That also means not buying junkfood by/for myself and drinking water; if it's already in the house I'll eat it all though.

-Get a daily schedule going, trying to fit in music (bagpipes and guitar) with schoolwork, journal, reading for pleasure, working out, and what not. Also, to be proactive about homework. I procrastinate, although not to any major extent, but it's a great habit to get into doing stuff as soon as possible, to avoid the stress and hassle the night before. This also means studying more than the night before for a test; review stuff as we learn it.

-Get my job hooked up. My working papers should clear any day now, and I want to get this thing going. I owe a few people money for Christmas presents, and I feel guilty making people wait for that.

-Try being more patient with people. When arguing, after formulating my own opinions, go back and see the opposing viewpoints to find any weaknesses/fallacies in my logic. That's not to show other people up, but to increase my own knowledge, as there's always someone smarter than you out there.

I'll edit this if I think of more. That's all off the top of my head.

My resolution this year is to visit at least 5 new countries this year..and hopefully out to Asia at some point this summer.

Also, would like to get a good daily workout regiment going and work on improving as a goalkeeper for the football club I've started playing with here in Berlin.
