PFSIKH
Favre vs Pennington with the Patriots playoff hopes intertwined in the outcome of this battle. If Favre wins and the Patriots win, the Patriots playoff ticket is punched with a division crown. In 2002, the Patriots did their part coming from 10 points down with 5 minutes to go at home against Miami to win in OT. This set the stage for a 4:15 start between the Jets and Packers. A game in which the Pennington led Jets dismantled the Packers and earned themselves a playoff berth. Jets in; Patriots out. Fast forward to 2008. We find ourselves with the same players. Chad. Brett. And a Patriots playoff berth in the balance. -Again, the Patriots lose a late season game against the Jets to lose control of their destiny. -Again, the Patriots face a must win against a division foe in inclement weather. -Again, Chad is facing Brett in a late game with the Patriots needing Chad to lose. This time there is another tangent. Revenge. Chad is having his best season since being cast aside for Brett. He has a career high in yards with a game to go. His QB rating and TD to INT ratio has not been this good since that magical 2002 season. Is Chad destined to lead his improbable team to the playoffs again and dash the hopes of Patriots? Not hard considering it's his only season since being cast aside for Brett.
JonEJet
I could care less about the Patriots Because this game means nothing to the Pats when they lose to the Bills

You miss the point. The irony that we are in the same situation as 2002 is funny to me. With Seymour out and Warren hurt, I think the Jills have a decided advantage with Marshawn Lynch. GodWearsAGrayHoodie
I did a post earlier this week, there is even more similarity to 2002. The Dolphins lead the division. They are the only team in the division controlling its own destiny. Go up North and beat a division rival that is still in the playoff hunt needs help to make the playoffs. If the Dolphins lose they are out of the playoffs. The New England Patriots don't control their own destiny. They must win and Brett Farve must lead his team to victory over a Chad Pennington led team at the Meadowlands for NE to win the division. The Jets just like NE don't control their own destiny, their hopes to win the division require them to win and the outcome of NE against another division rival. And all three fan bases want history to repeat. Patriot and Jets win; Miami loses ---- Patriots version Pennington over Favre --- Dolphins version Jets win division --- Jets version. crashingjet
This is by far, one of the craziest scenarios I've seen in the NFL, I just hope the game is worth watching. If Miami plays like the can and don't turn over the ball, it should be close. I really think the Jets are gonna come out strong and play very physical football, just not too physical Ugh, I swear the clock just ticked backwards, this is taking forever to get here.
