Besides Peyton Manning, who is more valuable to their team than Pennington?

he will finish in top 3, i made that statement 3 weeks ago and was laughed at

and i'm not a CP luva

that said, CP has yet to beat a real good Def in his career

ravens will eat him up!!!

Dolphins scored less points than the Jets and whole bunch of other teams. Sorry-Pennington is a very smart guy but limited. If this is the MVP, does anyone expect him to get past the Ravens? The oddsmakers don't.

Peyton Manning had the best year of any QB, throw out the stats. They didn't have Bob Sanders most fo the season, Harrison is going to seed, they started out 0-2, and yet they are right now the team no one in the AFC wants to play. Suspect if you asked the coaches who's the QB in the playoffs who scares the piss out of them, it's Manning. Watch the Ravens cheat up and shut down the vaunted MVP with the noodle arm.

Just out of morbid curiosity I quickly glanced at this article. I jumped to the part where they tried to explain why and stopped after the first item. The first item discusses the difference in "adjusted" yard per attempt passing, which factors in sacks. So not only is this number padded by Chad's penchant for dump-off passes, but Chad also gets credit for the drafting of Jake Long and signing of Justin Smiley. I mean come on, are they freakin' serious?

CHFF loves QB rating, hence they always liked Pennington..

Regardless, this is controversial declaration meant to drive page hits imo..

Imo, Pennington should and will get some votes since they finished the deal and won the division. But for all the Pennington vs. Manning vs Williams analysis, they are not considering how easy Miami's schedule was.

You and that damn schedule. Chad beat the 49ers, Seahawks and Raiders, all teams the Jets lost to, then beat the Jets at the meadowlands.

The MVP isn't about numbers, it's about ones value. This is why QB's or RB's generally win the award.

doesn't matter!!!

he deserves the accolades!!!!!!!!

he outplayed Brett phucking favree!!!!!!!!

Not really. If our defense could hold onto INT's he would've gone down in flames..

I hope he plays like that next week, we'll all get a good laugh about the MVP..

LOL at this thread.

according to CHFF:

  • He's one of the most underrated players in NFL history.
  • He's sparked a turnaround for the ages.
  • And he's put up some pretty damn good numbers in what's been a statistically prominent, though injury-riddled career.

yeah, i completely disagree. he's actually one of the most OVER rated players to me. he's only had maybe 2-3 seasons in his ENTIRE career where he actually earned his money.

sure, the dolphins had a turn-around...but i think he was only a peice of it. chad couldn't have done it all by himself.

and his stats have been heavily padded by short dump-off passes.

over-rated.

I really beleive the Jets would have a better record, and won the division, had Penny been the QB. You basically ran the same offense you did when he was the in NY - except this year the Jets had a better o-line and run game. You need look no further than the last game. NO WAY Penny throws those rethaded Brett Favre picks.

You're right, he threw very different types of "rethaded Chad Pennington picks". The only difference is the Jets defenders decided not to catch them.

Again, Joey played well but didnt record a sack the last 2 or 3 games. Penny was the one constant and we wouldnt have sniffed the playoffs without him.

I don't know....Porter gets the game ending sack against SF...how many sacks did he get in the game against Seattle? I know the Rams held him to 0 but you won a lot of close games that one sack could have been the difference
