spjets
SAT ?????????????? why does it take 5-6 days to meet with a guy that shares the same f**king stadium???
Jetkid94
SAT ?????????????? why does it take 5-6 days to meet with a guy that shares the same f**king stadium??? that was my reaction, but my feeling is since its weekdays the giants could be preparing for the divisional game and they probably get off on saturday and sunday. I dont think the giants want spags to miss preparation time this week.
dbatesman
SAT ?????????????? why does it take 5-6 days to meet with a guy that shares the same f**king stadium??? I wouldn't sweat it; I remember reading somewhere that we're interviewing Spagnuolo before the Lions and Browns are, so we might get an early advantage there. The fact that he's an East Coast guy and wouldn't have to move could play in our favor too...
KSJets
Or how about just one, giant, official "The Next HC of the NYJ..." thread.
faba
Only because the Giants have a bye this week can anyone interview him. His roots are in the East -that is in our favor. We will need an experienced offensive guy to pair with him.
Borgoguy
Or how about just one, giant, official "The Next HC of the NYJ..." thread. Forget it. Why am I suddenly getting the cold sweats in anticipation of the Jets brass making another colossal blunder? Watch the cluster f**k unfold, kids. The fact that he's an East Coast guy and wouldn't have to move could play in our favor too... exactly why I think we have the best chance to get him. he is in our stadium already, use to everything, use to the media, and use to the field and stuff. since he is defesively minded he may go where the best defensive talent is and IMO we have better promise on defense than the browns and lions. we may have more money to. I think we have a good chance to get him. would you guy think we offer him some kind of contract on wednesday just to set it up for the lions and browns to try to counter, or does this stuff not happen? I have a problem with our offensive play calling this past year at times. A new coach will want his own staff that he trusts .

I don't think they can officially sign him until after the Giants season is over. They can interview but I believe that is it.

Offense most definitely WAS a problem. The playcalling was sometimes head-scratchingly bad. We have the talent on offense to succeed, but some of the schemes they came up with were horrible. Way too inconsistent. I'd rather give JetsRule128 an XBox 360 on the sidelines and have him call the offensive plays before I want to see Schottenheimer back here. Jetkid94
Maybe we were watching different teams.... yes we made some horrible calls, but our rushing was great and favre did look good while we ran the ball. when we abandoned the run it all went bad, and mangini was responsible for that. our defense couldnt stop anyone after mid season. plus we had a highscoring offense according to the stats. 124
SAT ?????????????? why does it take 5-6 days to meet with a guy that shares the same f**king stadium??? Because this is the time where he has a couple of off days to relax and spend time with his family. Once he's back in the "football world" he will meet with the Jets. What is the big deal if we meet with him Saturday as opposed to today, tomorrow or Friday? Is he going to agree to coach the Detroit Lions, THE DETROIT LIONS, in those days? I think not.
