KozJets
Regardless of what happens this offseason, am I the only one who thinks we're in for a rebuilding season? New coach, maybe new quarterback, etc... Also, it may sound dumb, but 09 is an odd number year...

This year was a even and look how the season ended.
cmcm750203
So? what does odds and evens have to with anything? This year was a even and look how the season ended. Odd numbered years have not been too kind to us since '01 2003 6-10 2005 4-12 2007 4-12 2002 9-7 (Penny's first real season, rallied us big time) 2004 10-6 (Loss to Steelers on the missed FG) 2006 10-6 (Mangenius) Of course this year looks like it broke the pattern anyway. SayNoToDMC
No......... you don't spend what we spent on Veteran talent last offseason on a rebuilding team. Who are we going to lose from a team that went 8-3? Brett Favre(if we're lucky)

124
So? what does odds and evens have to with anything? This year was a even and look how the season ended. 1998-Present: 1998: 12-4, Division Champs, 1-1 Playoffs 1999: 8-8 2000: 9-7 2001: 10-6, 0-1 Playoffs 2002: 9-7, Division Champs, 1-1 Playoffs 2003: 6-10 2004: 10-6, 1-1 Playoffs 2005: 4-12 2006: 10-6, 0-1 Playoffs 2007: 4-12 2008: 9-7 So since 1998 in EVEN years we have been 9-7 or better every time and in ODD years we have been 9-7 or better just once. It may be semi-ridiculous, but it is interesting.

Brett Favre(if we're lucky) and get who to replace him? the most viable options i see in FA Garcia...nope Warner.. maybe garrard... doubt it Collins... doubt it cassell...i hope not or Clemens or ratliff to start? Face it we need favre back next season

But i wanna see him against some actual guys that would make the team rather than scrubs who are gonna end up on practice squads. If we are lucky this year under Favre helped both of them mature and they will both be better in the next year.
war ensemble
nobody trusts ratliff it seems? the kid is good in practice, did great in preseason. hes gonna be good. We're talking about practice. eGDBR2L5kzI His play in practice and preseason does not translate into playing well in the regular season. He might be good, he might not. He has the potential to be great, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will be. If it was so cut-in-stone that he's going to be good, he'd be starting by now. I'm not going to trust a guy that's never played a regular season game, but I'm open to giving him a chance.

Face it we need favre back next season I'd be just as confident with either of the guys on our roster as I am with a 40 yr old cry baby who just lead the NFL in INT's and doesn't even seem all that well received in the locker room. If we NEED Favre back next season then we might as well just start rebuilding now, cause we aren't winning **** with him dont get me wrong i think Both Ratliff & Clemens have loads of potential. If we are lucky this year under Favre helped both of them mature and they will both be better in the next year. I said this at the beginning of the season when everyone wanted to get Favre as a 1 or 2 year band aid(even though he just turned out to be salt in the wound), claiming it would be good for our young QB's to learn under him that it was retarded. Favre is an idiot blessed with a cannon for an arm, look what happened when he started to lose that arm this season? Pennington is a hell of a lot smarter then Favre, and was a much better option for our young QB's to learn from. Another year learning under Favre is going to teach them nothing. Except maybe how to inspire a locker room "If we win we win, if we lose we lose"

The Dolphins play a 1st place schedule for the first time since the divisions were realigned in 2002 so that pretty much guarantees a 6 or 7 win season for them. The Bills are the Bills and will go 7-9 again. It's going to be the Jets & Pats fighting it out for the AFCE next season.

If it's Clemens/Ratliff with the likes of Spagnuolo or another unproven guy, you're gonna be competing with the Bills. If Parcells leaves, I'm ready to discount the Dolphins. It's too early to tell, but with our (as in, the AFCE's) schedules next year, expect a 10-6 or so team to win the division. Especially if Brady can't play. I see our division getting a whole lot weaker (while still competitive) next year. We can't hide behind soft schedules like this year, so it'll be tough.
