Maclin or Harvin?

I'm going to have to say Maclin. He is a much more polished route runner and i honestly beleive his acceleration is better than harvin's. You really won't go wrong with either, but I just have a hard to believing Harvin will be able to stay on the field for an entire NFL season.

The amount of quality receivers coming out this year and next are just amazing - crabtree, harvin, maclin, my boy DHB, britt, hicks, and lafell. And than next year you have Dez and the next andre johnson Arrelious Ben (this guy is going to be absolutely unreal).

I'd take Kenny Britt out of Rutgers. He's got pretty much everything you'd want in a #1 WR.

Including the diva act!

Besides Crabtree, Hakeem Nicks is the best wide receiver in the draft. People just don't know it yet.

If I'm picking between Maclin and Harvin, I'm taking Maclin. He pretty much took Missouri on his back this year with game breaking speed and he is a craftsman in his route running.

If I had to choose, gun to my head, I'd take Maclin but I don't think either will do jack **** in the NFL other than as returners, kind of like Devin Hester-ish.

As for if the Jets are planning to go WR with their pick, wherever it is between 15-20, I'd go with one of the UNC WR's since obviously Michael Crabtree will be long, long gone.

Nicks is a nice receiver, but he isn't going to time fast enough to warrant that type of pick. If you've watched UNC play at all this year, you'd know he is basically a larger version of Cotchery. All of Jetnation has been screaming, and rightly so, for a WR that can stretch the field and actually create seperation; well than you're going to need a guy that has good acceleration, runs good routes and has good speed. You're going to want to look at Harvin, Maclin and most definitely DHB. If you're looking for someone that can be a deep threat and develop into a true #1 you definitely are talking about DHB.

Highest ceiling for any WR in this draft. However in the event that he actually runs a sub-4.3, I don't think he'll be around by the time we're up.

Well than there are serious flaws with the scouting system because Bethel Johnson was one of the fastest receivers ever and I believe he's now out of the league while a guy like Jerry Rice didn't jump off the charts with speed is the greatest ever.

Speed is over rated. It helps running straight lines, but how often to you do that in football? It's about shiftyness and getting in and out of routes which Nicks is the best in the draft at doing (save Crabtree.)

No need for a guy with Harvin's skill-set with Leon on the roster. Maclin wins by default.

Harvin's receiving skills blow Leon's out of the water.

However, I agree that Maclin would be the better fit for this team. And I am biased because Harvin is probably my favorite all time Gator...but I still think he will be the better player.

F drafting a WR. Id rather a new coach come in, make a huge draft day trade to land Bradford or Stafford. The cost to move from 17 into the top 3 would be huge but I wouldnt mind a new coach coming in and starting a new era with a new young franchise QB.

Neither. We need a CB, safety, O-Lineman (depth), and D-Lineman (depth/our line's getting old) before a wide receiver. They might be good, but we have no use for them. I'll stick with Cotch/Stuckey/Clowney. Get rid of Coles. We have to prioritize with this draft, we're not in a position to take luxuries.

What makes you say that?

Just a feeling I have, the same feeling I had about Mike Williams (some from here remember me saying he'd be out of the league or a #4 receiver within three-four years). Then again I also thought Freddie Mitchell would come into his own after the 2004 season, so I'm either hit or miss. :)
