crashingjet
Discuss: Shula favorably compared Pennington to Bob Griese, the Hall of Fame quarterback who helped guide the Dolphins to back-to-back Super Bowl titles in 1972 and '73. "Griese was a great field general and you see a lot of that same thing in Pennington," Shula said. "He's just in complete control out there. The things that he's doing with his receivers and running backs also remind me a lot of what Peyton Manning does with his receivers in the Indianapolis offense." http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/other/sfl-flspdolshula01sbjan01,0,5114519.story

CTM
Is Shula even potty trained any more? Who cares what that old fart says. I'm sure he was throwing compliments his way when he was a Jet?
crashingjet
wasn't Griese injured the whole year in 72? Don't know what the relevance is, but he started 6 games including the Superbowl, which he finished with a 95.3 rating. He also won another Superbowl the following year. NIGHT STALKER
Why should we give two ****s what Shula has to say about Griese and Pennington on a Jets message board. Why don't you dig up that quote by Shula comparing Griese and a new car. He's fine as long as the car he's driving has no problems...talk about a system QB. That was Griese. 124
Cocaine is a hell of a drug. That or my condolences to the Shula household. Delusions suck when you get old, or so I hear.
Vicious89x
Quite frankly I don't understand why this thread is allowed on the board. It's a Jets messageboard. This story relates to no one one the Jets.

I believe it's supposed to mean we are hypnotized by the power of Chad Pennington, which will only lead to heartbreak and dispair
