Ryno the Jet
Obviously it is early for this, but I am a Jets fan, and there is not much else for which to look forward. Needs on Offense: QB FB (Resign TR) WR (Get rid of Coles) OL (Depth) Needs on Defense: NT ILB CB S Priority Needs: QB, WR, NT, CB, S My Favorite 1st Round Draftee Possibilities At Priority Positions: Terrence Cody DT Bama (Monster, if he comes out) Mark Sanchez QB USC (Great pro prospect, if he comes out) Maclin WR Mizzou (Won't be around for Jets, but amazing player) Taylor Mays S USC (Day 1 Starter) Much of this will depend on the new coaching personnel. I would prefer Spag of Ryan, now that Cower is a no go.

124
Unless we hire Spagnuolo and he wants to switch back to a 43 then there is no need to look at a Defensive Tackle. QB, WR, S, LB and CB should be our Top 5 areas we look to improve via FA and the Draft. Yes we need Offensive Line Depth but we need starters, or at least potential starters, in those areas. Ryno the Jet
NT??? We have a guy named Kris Jenkins who will be 29 next season Yes, and he wore down this year. He was overused due to our lack of depth at the position. Not to mention, the D was terrible when he was on the sideline, in large part. Imagine having two guys up front the size of Jenkins and Cody with their athleticism. Coaches like Ryan or Spag would have a field day scheming up blitzes and such. war ensemble
We don't need a WR or NT. I'd focus on CB/Safety with the first two picks, then D-Line or O-Line depth and go from there. Oh, and draft a QB in the fourth round. He'll probably end up being the next Elway.

He was injured, which Mangini conveniently hid from us all. After a full offseason already in game shape, he'll be fine playing a full season next year. Its priority depends on the coach. KINGDIRK
MARK SANCHEZ? Could very well be available at 17. Im not gonna be like many and pretend that I know anything about scouting college football players. However if this guy is a legit prospect and projects well, it'd be nice to have hope at QB. As per Todd McShay: "Might be the most talented all-around quarterback during coach Pete Carroll's tenure at USC. Durability is a question mark and he still forces too many throws but there's a lot to like about his quick release, accuracy, arm strength, mobility and passion for the game". Spudicus
Freeman declared 6-6, 250 strong arm and very mobile, could get into the late first early second, could be a guy we take a look at. Will be 21 in a couple weeks so that allows plenty of time for development with the right HC/OC/QB coach.

I'd be happy if they got a good NT prospect in the 2nd or 3rd though. In terms of their 1st round pick, at QB Stafford and Bradford are the top guys obviously. Also, I could see an unlikely scenario where Nate Davis' stock rises to late 1st round. If a top QB isn't there they should look hard at a S or ILB. This seems like a good class for safeties at the top. After those positions, I'd also consider a WR if one with #1 potential falls to them. EDIT: Forgot about DE. I'd put that right below safety. The only one that I know of that will go in the 1st is Tyson Jackson. I like what I've seen and heard about him. This is all assuming we stay with the 3-4 scheme of course, but our needs wouldn't change a whole lot even if we did switch.

Doesn't it worry you that he plays with terrible leverage and doesn't seem to dominate like you'd expect considering his size? Maybe it was the games I saw but the few times I watched he didn't really impress. The BC DTs looked better at NT duties than Cody to me. I know Cody is pretty athletic considering he's immense but I'd prefer Raji or Brace over him at this point.

This was his first year in Div 1 and he had injuries. The injuries concern me more than anything. He has a great motor. The BC DTs are awesome. I would love to have Raji, but I don't think he has as much upside as Cody.
