shawn306
Before the Rams moved to Anaheim and played in the Coliseum they drew huge crowds. If the did move back it would have to be to LA and not Anaheim.

PFSIKH
My gut tells me it will happen soon!!!!!!! Rai-duhs will be down there by 2012. Their lease expires after next year and they have been buying up property in LA. What was old is new and old will be new again when your "Los Angeles Raiders" open the 2012 season. Plus, with the economy tanking, the NFL could use the 2nd largest market as a bargaining chip the next time they negotiate a TV contract.

The Oakland Alameda Coliseum (or what ever they call it these days) was totally reconfigured for football in the last decade. And the A's are moving closer to San jose in the next few years. Oakland will fight tooth&nail. Same thing with the Rams. Suspect their dome has a long-term lease. Oen thing that is clear. Either the NFL expands thr regular season to 17 games,w ith the 17th game being a neutral site one, allowing them to schedule 7 or 8 games in LA, as well as other locales(Toronto, Tokyo, Mexico City, London, Dublin, Vancouver), or LA will get a team. kelticwizard
For the life of me, I can't understand how the NFL can leave the second largest city in the country without a football team. The NFL makes a great big splash about how big a business they are, the commissioner acts like he's handing down decisions of great national import, and then they have a situation like that. Unbelievable.

Garb
If I remember correctly, the LA crowd is mostly college ball and Lakers fans. They couldn't care less about pro football. Speaking of which, the Arizona Cardinals can't sell out a playoff game? Shameful.
PFSIKH
Link? It was on an ESPN broadcast. They were buying property, something 20 acres I believe. There was nothing imminent about a stadium being built. Just speculation of A (Lease Expires) + B (Buying Property) = Los Angeles Raiders. Don't know about that. It's possible, even if only in my dreams. What a brilliant "exit strategy" for all of us old time fans. How could anyone from the New York Metro Area--and transplanted fans, of course--root for a team, once it has abandoned us, especially to Los Angeles, right? Garb
Concur POTW and rep!!!!!!!!! then on to Atlanta or the next pro team in Dewey!! Man, you really are on an Atlanta kick, eh? Michael Tuner makes that team - with "Matty Ice" a close second. I just can't get myself to like 'em. The fact that Ryan has had such a successful season just fuels the arrogant fire of the BC alums 'round here. It's nauseating. If BC wins the Beanpot this year, it will become unbearable. BC losing yesterday - in a kick-in-the-gut-fashion - was pretty cool though

Borgoguy
Concur POTW and rep!!!!!!!!! then on to Atlanta or the next pro team in Dewey!! Thanks. Why do all of us older fans get to this point, afo? We have seen so many cluster f**ks in the past that we would walk away from the team--probably skipping and giddily giggling to ourselves--for any reason no matter how far fetched. BTW, Atlanta is my NFC team of choice for the playoffs. I can't--as yet--come up with one for the AFC, but I want Miami destroyed this weekend at all cost.
