Bob
There are some ruffed grouse living in the woods behind my house. They come down and pick up seeds on the ground below our birdfeeders. Today, for the second time in less than a year, I got the **** startled out of me by a crash at the back of the house and found a grouse, near death, below the point of impact. The first one hit a wall. Today's contestant slammed into the glass patio door. I'm surprised he didn't break it. It's too bad. They're beautiful birds and fun to watch.
