Arsis
If they keeping hiring and firing coaches and they keep on sucking they might just go the way of the Knicks and have no one really give a **** about them anymore. I see people already talking about how they're gonna give up their season tickets and how they're getting frustrated. Imagine if they hire Spags and he sucks for three years and then they fire him. That would put the Jets in prime Knicks territory right there. Which would suck. I was a diehard knicks fan for most of my life and I haven't watched a game in 3 years. It would suck for that to happen to the Jets. I'm just ranting a bit. I just wake the Jets to finally do the right thing and hire a competent guy who can hire some good coordinators and we can have some consistency here. I'm tired of the Jets going after the hot coordinator. I want the Jets to have that guy. I'm tired of the Jets trying to be the Patriots or the Giants. I want teams to want to copy the Jets success. SeniorFlaJet
Who did they hire who was hot? Goodell sold woody a bill of goods with Herm. The only one who wanted Mangini was the Jets.

Maxman
To be fair,Mangini was the first guy the Jets fired since Kotite. That is a good point actually. All the turnover and it has been one way: Parcells, Belly, Groh, Herm all wanted to leave and\or stepped down. I guess the question that needs to be asked is -- why does everyone hate coaching here? It couldn't be the fans, we are just swell. So Woody, why does everyone want to leave?

Sperm Edwards
? name the last jets HC to last more than 5 seasons Name the last Jets HC who was worth retaining for more than 5 seasons. I can think of two in the last decade, and reasons for their respective departures were intertwined with each other: Tuna and BB.
Arsis
In addition football is not like the NBA...the fans are loyal as hell regardless of what they post on a message board. I know it is. I know that it isn't the same. It just seems to me that the Jets could be on their way to becoming a joke and it bothers me. I love the Jets. I don't want to see them become some joke. They tried to copy the Pats when they hired Mangini. Now they're gonna try to copy the Giants with Spags. I just wish it was where the Jets were doing so great everyone wanted to hire our coordinators to fix their teams. Instead we get Herm and Mangini. serphnx
I really think the lack of a true home field gnaws away at people, and playing second fiddle to the giants thing The media is relentless here- you need thick skin to handle it and the players at the same time. I've always agreed with the home field thing. lol, you play at a stadium called Giants Stadium. You have to pretend it's called something else when it clearly isn't, and then just deny it and downplay it and make a huge deal about it not meaning anything, if it really didn't then why would people put so much effort into denying it? You never waste that much effort on something if it's true, you consider it trolling and ignore it if there's no merit to the point. The media is just an excuse. Dallas has a lot of media coverage and so do the Patriots. The NY media is the worst in the world, I agree, but I don't read the papers myself so I don't expect the players to either. Keep your mind on world events instead, sports don't even matter really, and if your job is sports you should be even less interested in what non-players have to say about it. The main problem I think is Woody won't pay his coaches anything, and is dictating what players a coach can have. Mangini didn't want Favre, and it sounds like Woody demanded Mangini start Favre, and that Favre be the QB next year too. Woody is in over his head. At least Al Davis waited until he was old, Woody is already senile at his age. The Jets are the Oakland Raiders East, except with more futility and without their own home stadium. You'd have to be crazy to come out to coach out here, especially when the money isn't even there because of the cheapass owner. The PSLs show a complete disrespect to the loyal fanbase too. This team hasn't won ****, and it is acting like some kind of super succesful franchise that can tell the fans what it will buy. I hope nobody buys the PSLs and goes to the games next season. The economy is a mess, the last thing the American people need is to be taken to the cleaners by a second rate owner of a second rate franchise. It's really too bad the Dolans didn't get the Jets.
