kelticwizard
By all indications the entire Manning family is composed of gracious, classy people. On the other hand, with all the money Peyton gets from commercials portraying him as Mr, Nice Guy, he'd have to be crazy to do anything but act gracious, even if deep down inside he's a miserable ****. GodWearsAGrayHoodie
I suspect that by an large most players have considerably more respect and less hatred for players on opposing teams than the fans do. No question there are some players who hate other players or teams, but I suspect that is less frequent than it is in the fan bases. Keep in mind many players don't play for the team they grew up rooting for nor play for the same team their entire lives. Also many have friends on other teams either from college, playing on the same NFL team or even from playing in the probowl together.
4HCrew
Believe it or not the NFL fraternity is fairly close. As much grief Ray Lewis gets he also does tons of stuff for players throughout the NFL. But I agree Peyton is a class act.

Well it's a job, you'd go crazy if you actually hated all your opponents. Opposing lawyers don't actually hate each other, even do it really looks like they do sometimes. I'm sure some do (most lawyers are *******s lol anyway) but a lot will be amicable after a case is over or even while the jury isn't in the room. It's even more true with boxing/mma. These guys usually are friends afterwards if they weren't before, they're definitely civil towards each other and don't break out into a fight everytime they meet each other somewhere. But fans will play up the story before the fight that they hate each other, and the fighters will play that up too to sell PPVs.

Gainzo
They appear to be a very nice family. It was cool watching Peyton cheer for his little brother last year. I have nothing but respect for Peyton as he is an excellent QB and an even better person. Those hand written letters he wrote were pure class. Eli & Archie are douchebags. Do you recall how Eli ended up with the Giants?

kelticwizard
For what it's worth, I have heard that Archie thought Parcells drives players too hard and encourages them to play through injury too much, so he strongly advised his son to stay in school his last year so that somebody besides the Parcells-led Jets would have the No. 1 pick. Also, at the time San Diego was set to draft Eli, they had seemingly gone through several QB changes in a relatively few years and appeared unable to get anything out of any of them. Drew Brees was set to join that list until his breakout year. At the time it looked like the Chargers were a team like Arizona, that is, never get anywhere and chew up promising players in the process. Even if both stories are true, so what? If you knew something about football and you had two sons who were valued draft picks, wouldn't you do your best to get them into the best situation possible? Consider what happened to Archie himself, who was respected as a great QB despite being stuck with bad teams.

Zeebers
Last year's Superbowl was a horror show for all Jet fans. Pats vs Giants. Its equivalent to having to choose which ball you would like to be kicked in. I don't care how great a family they are. I would not have been able to handle a all Manning superbowl. Go San Diego Super Chargers.
