Giants Fans on the FAN right now ...

Are being more intelligent towards the Jets situation than Jets fans are.

Ed Coleman is KILLING Jets fans due to the crybaby nature of their calls today saying, "Holy moly. Has it been like this all week? Jeesh. I've taken a few days off for the holidays and I can't believe this. Has it really been like this all week? Jets fans, come down off the ledge. My lord."

Following that, Giants fans are calling in to discuss their teams and the playoffs and multiple Giants fans who have called in threw in a comment about the Jets like, "Eddie, I fully agree with you about the Jets fans calls. It has pretty much been widely reported everywhere that the main 3 guys; Cowher, Shannahan, and Holmgren all intend to take a year off and/or aren't talking to ANY TEAMS. Why these Jets fans have this woe-is-me attitude is beyond me."

I care about rationale, intelligent football discussion. Currently it seems like only the Giants fans in NY are talking that.

I do agree with you that Cowher was the one person I really wanted-he does not want to coach right now- so lets not cry about it and try to find the right guy instead.

They're right and I (as well as some others) have been saying the same thing. Some Jets fans just enjoy being the victim way too much. The fact that Cowher has no interest in coaching this year is no way a reflection on the Jets. The fact that Shannahan may not either and is currently away on vacation isn't either. Mangini was fired 5 days ago and you'd think the Jets were the biggest joke in the world because they weren't able to reincarnate Vince Lombardi and get him to agree to coach them.

Couldn't agree more. But please admit all the crying around the board this past week is annoying. Real annoying.

When people around here started arguing the merits of why the Detroit and Oakland jobs were better than the Jets HC gigs, I came to the realization that we're clearly dealing with some seriously mentally unstable people here.

Wow the fans of the defending champions who are currently the #1 seed are being reasonable...

About us!

If things were as bad as 99% of this board want to make it sound this would be the PERFECT time to kick their tenants while they're down (and lord knows they would take that chance when present). They're not because this TERRIBLE situation is all in Jets' fans minds. IT IS NOT REAL!

Some people need to get a grip on reality- we are far from the Lions of the NFL- we have a nucleus in place that can win if we find the right ingredients- disclaimer though 40 years and waiting for those ingredients.

I understand but it is easy to sit back and look at things when you are sitting on top. Granted some Jets fans have gone overboard but this franchise has not won a SB in over 40 years...and some things continue to happen

OK,

And most the Jets' fans crying has been about Woody Johnson and in the 8 years Woody has been owner we have been to the playoffs in 4 of the 8 years and outside of TERRIBLE COACHING from Mangidiot this year it would have been 5 of 8.

The guy is doing all he can to put a winning product on the field (including spending tons of money) and having much more success than previous owners did. Fans need to come off the ledge and chill the hell out, no?

Seriously, what did or do you expect Jet fans to act like? An "Oh well, so we blew the season when we were 8-3, we can look forward to next year". Is that what you want to hear? I don't know any Jets fan that considers himself or herself a die hard fan to have that type of disposition at this moment.

Spending money doesn't necessarily mean you're going to have a good product on the field. Spending money wisely does however.

I expect Jets fans to realize this team has a ton of talent (which it does) and the failure this season was due to terrible, atrocious coaching. Then I would like them to applaud the owner and GM for realizing that and acting immediately on it despite how hard it must have been to do so considering Eric was a closer personal friend of both of them.

Coaching was our problem this year, not talent. We can run the football and up until teams made adjustments and we didn't (straight from Kerry Rhodes' mouth in an interview from Tuesday), we could stop the run also.

We have a great OLine and Solid D line. That is the two necessary foundations for success on the two different sides of the football. We're fine with talent ... we need solid coaches.

Not really. We are closer to the Lions than we are to the Giants.

I'll agree with the O line. Not so much with the D line. If we are that talented on the D line we should overcome the coaching ineptness. We made average to below average QB's on Sunday look like Joe Namath in his glory days.

Good point. Look at the Bills who have NOT made the playoffs this century.

I agree 100%.

The behavior of some Jets fans in the past six days has been embarrassing.

We lost a game on Sunday. We fired our coach on Monday. And since we haven't hired a replacement by Saturday the world is coming to an end?

For ****'s sake, the playoffs haven't even started yet and the last time I checked, they won't for another two hours. Two of the top candidates for the job are DCs for playoff teams. One is being interviewed as we speak.

This team has a lot of talent and a lot to offer for a coach, including an owner who has demonstrated that he is dedicated to winning and a GM that is willing to turn the world on its head to get his guy in the draft.

For those who claim that Woody is not interested in winning, let me ask you something. Why did he spend money to improve this team in free agency? Why did he build the best training facility on the planet?

Get your heads out of your asses and understand that coaching searches do not take only 96 hours. They usually take several weeks.

The Jets will find their man. He may not be your top choice but realize this, no one and I mean NO ONE is guaranteed to win. The best thing you can do as a fan is know that Johnson and Tannenbaum want to win and will do whatever it takes to find the guy that can get us where we want to go.

It's not a question of spending money. Anyone with deep pockets can spend the money. You're a Yankees fan like myself. Do you think the Yankees have spent wisely since 2000? They certainly want to win just like you suggest with Woody and Mike...just saying.

Are you suggesting that our FA signings weren't money well spent?

Yeah, they all sucked. Faneca, Pace, Richardson and Woody were all awful. Kris Jenkins did not contribute a bit.

Think before you speak.

Hey, can you read? Where did I say all the FA's sucked? If you want to start with the insults, you picked the right dude. We're having a good debate here without the insults...but, if you want to go in that direction, PM me...I live right here in FL. We'll get together one evening.

Dude, stop the internet tough guy routine. Nobody's impressed.

You made the comment that spending money doesn't guarantee success, and you're right.

But you also suggested that the Jets didn't spend wisely in the offseason and you are dead wrong.

But one thing is true, owners who spend money in a free agency sportsworld are guys who want to win.

The Yankees may not have spent money wisely in recent years, but you can't suggest that the Steinbrenners don't want to win.

Thank you. He will avoid you at all costs, but maybe he will at least shut up, or stop using those irritating roll eyes emoticons. That emoticon annoys me so much, it always conveys a condescending attitude.
