Darren Sproles-Leon Washington

Clearly Sproles, like Leon is too small.

Forget about the fact that they average like 7 yards a carry they're too small I tell ya!

Guys like them can carry the rock 20, 25 times a game about two times a season. If they do more than that they will wear down and will be less effective.

Oh, and BTW, Sproles is faster than Leon.

Im not saying 20-25 a game. leon had 76 carries (4.75 per game) for the season. There has to be middle ground.

If he's faster it's not by much. Leon is also better returning kicks than he is.

Agreed. Jones should've gotten the ball as much as he did, but there should have been less passes and more runs.

I'd like to see Jones get it 300 times and Washington 125-150.

Nope they should never get carries, either of them. They'll break like like twigs I say! TWIGS!

God forbid we ever give Leon the ball more than 10 times in a game just to see what happens. Oh God no!

Actually I felt down the stretch Jones was not run enough. I'm a huge fan of the passing game, but you need to know when to run the damn ball. Sometimes they'll key in on the pass or be unable to stop the run, that's when you just shove it right down their throats, especially when you suck at passing in the first place.

I like Leon and he should have been used more as well, but the combined mishandle of TJ and Leon together is probably one of the big reasons Mangini was fired. That and Woody is just Al Davis in a costume.

I wouldn't say to give it to him 20-25 times a game. How about at least 10 or so? He only had 76 ALL YEAR.

We KNOW he can carry more. In 2006, he carried twice as much: 151 times, and was almost as effective. Granted, in 2006, we didn't have a feature back.

But the point remains, Leon was a surprise 4th round pick and was good from the start, but he is becoming even more surprising, he is becoming a better player every year. He can handle it. Give him more attempts.

This is funny. I was thinking the same thing last night, and have said it many times. This BS about Leon being too small is just BS.

Yup. Leon needs to be taken off Punt duty.

Agreed. Replace him on punt returns, and replace those touches on offense. He should be averaging 10 carries a game.

And Leon is 20 pounds heavier than Sproles. And I doubt Sproles is that much faster at all.

In fact, at the Combine, Sproles ran a 4.47 while Leon ran a 4.42.

As for punt and kick returns, Sproles this year had a punt return average of 11.32 yards per return (290 off 22 returns) and no touchdowns while leon averaged 10.45 (303 yards on 29 returns) and also no touchdowns. Hardly a big difference at all.

As for kick returns, sproles this year averaged 25.96 per kick (1376 over 53 returns) and 1 td while leon averaged 25.66 (1231 over 48 returns) and again 1 touchdown.

The numbers are very similar and have been over much of their career.

Either way, they aren't so small and fragile that they are going to whittle away into nothing.
